Wedding officiant attire

Bri, on July 22, 2020 at 11:02 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 4
My FHs grandmother is officiant our wedding. I initially asked her if she wanted to join us for hair and makeup and she said no, which is fine. However, now she wants to wear an outfit that is less formal that I would have expected and the colors do not go with what everyone else is wearing and I'm afraid will clash with the ceremony and the pictures. Am I overreacting to this? Should I just let this go or should I say something?

Maybe you could tell her the color you would like her to wear. Just tell her since she is technically part of the wedding party, you would really love for her to be recognized as such and color coordinate with everyone.

I would tell her. You don’t want to look back at your pictures and have any regret or have your FH or FMIL y’all to her about the formality of the event and the color coordination.

I would sit down and talk to her about your concern about her not dressing as formally as she should be. As for colors, I don't think she really needs to match you guys.

Maybe you and your FH could talk to her. I feel like she should at least be okay with wearing a neutral that won't clash with your wedding party.
