Wedding Night Lingerie: Is it worth it?

I am unsure what forum to put this in or if it's even an appropriate thing to ask here, but I feel slightly less awkward asking strangers behind a keyboard than asking my mother at all, so just putting this out there: After the reception was over & you & your new wife/husband went to where...

After the reception was over & you & your new wife/husband went to where you were turning in for the night: was there any energy left for romantic endeavors?

I'm sitting here looking up bridal &/or white lingerie & something dawned on me. That wedding day is going to be LONG & I anticipate stress on top of possibly not sleeping well the night prior because jitters. The party will be lots of fun, lots of energy. What's going to realistically happen when we leave the reception? Am I really going to feel like putting on something sensual, or am I going to want to take that dress, shoes & shapewear off, take my hair down, wash my face & go the heck to SLEEP.

Buy it and have it. I was exhausted, my Husband wasn't. That way you have it if you want it.

I feel a kindred spirit wrote this post. 😂

I too have wondered about the point of sexy lingerie, as you say it will likely be removed shortly anyway so does it even matter?
If you were going to be role-playing or getting your kink on, then it's different.

I would think you’d be pretty tired and just want to crash. Or maybe you’ll be high on adrenaline and happiness! Maybe you could find some undergarments that you feel sexy in that you could possibly wear under your dress? Id definitely pack it if not and just see what happens…

So I'm late in replying to this for your wedding date (congratulations btw!), but thought I would still reply bc it might still help someone else. Let us know how your wedding night ended up too!

For me and my husband, our wedding started at 11 and our reception ended at 7. It was a long day overall, but I think we just had a lot of adrenaline and excitement so we never really felt exhausted or anything. We also didn't drink or eat way too much which I think really helps to avoid fatigue later. We wanted the wedding night to be special and private for us at our Airbnb, so we showered and I wore a special bridal lingerie ensemble (slip, stockings, thong, heels - nothing over-the-top elaborate or complicated) and he wore boxers. We lit candles and had a little soft music in the background. We also played a little sexy wedding night dice and card game we bought to set the mood - it was fun! Maybe my husband is different, but he really seems to appreciate it when I put effort into bedroom attire and doesn't just tear it off. I think we just put some thought into what we wanted the night to be about and focused on each other. So, without getting into too many details, it was a very memorable and fulfilling evening, and I would do it all over again. I guess it comes down to how much effort you both put into it and what kind of experience you want to have. Of course, every girl is different so do what works best for you and your husband-to-be. Best of luck! Smiley smile
