Wedding nerves!

Rachael, on September 19, 2019 at 1:43 PM Posted in Planning 0 7
My wedding is today! I am so excited but I’m starting to feel very nervous. Not about actually being married but just the whole wedding thing. I don’t want to cry walking down the aisle. What did you do to keep yourself from crying? Any tips are welcome.

First, I'm definitely going to cry walking down the aisle. I will be walking toward my future with people I love so much surrounding us. As for the nerves, it's completely normal to want everything to be perfect. I have decided that perfect is not an option so it takes some of the weight off. Something can always, and often will, go wrong. We do all this planning not to eliminate that but to reduce the major mishaps. At the end, no matter what happens, you will be married to that one person. Take a few deep breaths and focus on that. Then you should feel ready to take on the world. Good luck and congrats!

I was so nervous. I bite my lip without meaning to walking down the aisle. I ended up crying when my grandmother read the poem she wrote.

I think it's okay to cry! Don't try to completely suppress your natural emotions!

I started crying basically as soon as we got to the church. Haha. I definitely cried walking down the aisle though the tears had subsided by the time I got to the altar. The big cry was during the vow reading. I made it one sentence in before I started crying.

I'm sure there are tips and tricks to not cry but at least for me once it hit there was no stopping it from happening. So basically my advice would be make sure you have waterproof everything makeup and don't be afraid of crying!

In the minutes before I walked down the aisle, when I heard the music for the girls, I started to tear up. I was walking alone, so the only person there was the venue coordinator...I think she saw I was going to start, because she said "Don't cry!"...I said, "then talk to me!" She kind of started rambling about where I needed to walk and stop and turn and wait...I really have no idea what she was talking about, but it gave me something to try to focus on and a minute to take a breath before I walked in.
