Wedding kind of close to Christmas?

Okay, so we are now considering on getting married in 2017 if possible, however, many of the available Saturdays at the venues we've contacted are in December. The one venue we really like has an availability December 30th. My first thought was that it was really close to Christmas, and there will...

Okay, so we are now considering on getting married in 2017 if possible, however, many of the available Saturdays at the venues we've contacted are in December. The one venue we really like has an availability December 30th. My first thought was that it was really close to Christmas, and there will be a ton of people traveling by plane. Is that a terrible date for an out of state (my family) wedding? Honestly, is it way too close to the holidays?

    Mine is this Saturday about 12 days before thanksgiving... I've had 5 out of town people decline on coming because of thanksgiving. Smiley smile which is fine
