Wedding Invites

So I’m wondering... Where did everyone get their wedding invitations at? I am looking for an affordable place to get mine, any suggestions? Also when should I start sending them out? 🤔

I bought files from a graphic designer on Etsy and had items printed through VistaPrint and Moo. Much cheaper! Made save the dates, postponement notes and invitations with them. Check out Standish Design Studio on Etsy. They have full wedding suites so your programs, table card numbers, menus and more can match!

    Hi Ruby,

My fiance and I are using Dekarda. One of his friends got married and she used their services; the cards are just as gorgeous in person as they are in photos and are affordable. I have attached the link below:

    Dekarda invitations

Please note that they are based overseas so if you are looking to have them created and sent to you quickly, I don't recommend them.

Zazzle is another great site! Zazzle Invitations

As far as when to send them out, I'd say at least a month and a half before the date. Normally, venues like a final headcount of guests 2 weeks before the wedding.

Good luck with everything and stay safe!

Shutterfly is pretty good. They do 50% off once in a while and you can get really nice invites for pretty cheap.

I ordered my invites from Costco. With the invite, a details card and an RSVP car, cost was $100 for 50 invites. Bonus was it required one postage stamp on outside and one on rsvp. I did postcards for STD from there and postcards are cheaper postage. Sams club also has similar pricing.

Definitely check out Magnetstreet! They have awesome sales all the time and their quality and customer service can't be beat! I've ordered everything from them. They should be sent 6-8 weeks from when your caterer needs a meal count.

We have been looking at Zazzle for our invitations. That is where we order our save the dates from. They are reasonably priced for what you are looking for

We went with a local shop for all of our stationary and loved them. It was honestly only slightly more than a large online store and we supported local. I would send out Save the Dates now and invitations in early to mid-October.

I did our save the dates and invites myself through Shutterfly. They have sales all the time and I saved a ton that way.

We used Shutterfly. Our invitations were gorgeous! We had foil pressed invitations and they were half the cost of other invitation companies!

Invitations typically go out 6-8 weeks before your wedding.

I am doing my own stationery for my entire wedding all I'm doing is buying the design paper that I would like and putting the words and graphics on it myself since I'm a graphic designer photographer by trade and hobby

We used Shutterfly while they had a 50% or 60% off sale in January. Our wedding is in October but we said “pending a worldwide disaster nothing is changing” - so our bad.

We were going to send them out at the end of July. Our wedding coordinator (he come with our amazing venue, sanctuary on penn in Indianapolis, recommended a 2-2.5 month lead and setting the rsvp 1 month prior to the big day. We had also sent our save the dates and most of our guests are coming from our city (except our family in Ireland, and we are sending those next month).
With the pandemic, we are going to send our invites earlier, and do an additional save the date email so that the spring vacations don’t end up getting rescheduled on our wedding if it can be avoided!

I got mine from vistaprint and they gave me a wedding coupon a few days after I designed them...( I didn’t order them immediately) I absolutely love ours!! My knot wedding planner timeline says they should be sent three months before the wedding but I’ve seen 6-8 weeks as well.
