Wedding in the time of covid

Kristina, on July 1, 2020 at 2:09 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 7
Hey All,

I’m getting married in a few weeks and I’m super concerned. Of course cases are spiking again in Washington State, especially in King and Snohomish counties. My FH and I don’t plan on canceling since it would be super short notice and our family has hotels booked and everything. I’m super concerned because I was hoping a lot of people would’ve declined and most didn’t, we now have 70+ attending. Due to Covid restrictions we are having the wedding outside on the church grounds. I am worried that people will get sick but we are trying to be socially distant as possible and have hand sanitizer everywhere. I don’t even know if we should even have a reception or at least just have cake and other desserts? I am having a DJ because we couldn’t get any of our church organists to play for us. We are supposed to have music and dancing but I don’t know if we should even do that. Masks in our state everyone has to wear which I’m totally fine with and I know that I shouldn’t worry about my guests health because it is their choice they are coming. But I’m a little worried. My FH and I are older and don’t want to postpone anymore. I need some advice please...

I think if you’re gonna do it then as you said, take all the precautions you have mentioned. You could just cut the reception short to a cake and punch only if that is preferable and I don’t think I’d open the dance floor

I'm sorry this is happening and affecting your wedding (similar to us all). You need to do whatever you have to in order to make it okay for *you*. Whatever makes sense to you and leaves you feeling like you've done what you can - that's probably the right move.
Good luck - I'm personally hoping there's some kind of inverse relationship between an unhappy wedding and a happy marriage. 😂

Hi Kristina! I too am getting married soon! The outdoors is a great safety measure! I found on this forum and through my dad the wristbands idea. I put my own spin on it and used our wedding color for bands where guests being extra careful can wear. Hope this helps!!Wedding in the time of covid 1

Take All Precautions You Can. That's Really All You Can Do At This Point. Your Guests Will Make Their Own Decisions.

Wristband Bros online. They guarantee delivery in time but may charge a rush order fee. It was super easy to order and not expensive. Hope it works out Lindsey!! Congratulations on the wedding!! ❤️❤️
