What perks did you get from the hotel you set your wedding block up with? I’m guaranteeing them at least 25 rooms for definitely the night of my wedding (a Saturday) and a good number of rooms for the night before. They are giving me $99 off my suite (which was already included as a perk in my wedding venue package) 🙄 that seems a little ridiculous to give them all this business and get really nothing in return. We live in the Chicago suburbs, there are a million hotels! Did you guys look around for a deal or is this common?

Congrats on scoring such a great deal!

We didn't have many hotel options, unfortunately, but I'm pretty happy with the block that we signed for. Minimally discounted rooms for our guests, shuttle service (it's free for venues within 10 miles, and we're at 12, so we're paying a small flat fee to have the shuttle run to our venue), and they'll give my FH bonus points for his Hilton Honors account based on how many rooms are booked. If at least 10 rooms are booked, they'll automatically upgrade us to a romance package--nothing crazy, but the room then comes with champagne, chocolate covered strawberries, and breakfast. There are also no penalties if our full block doesn't get used, so I'll take it!

We didn't really get any perks, either, besides the locked-in lower rate (which would've probably been a lot more without that because our wedding was Memorial Day weekend), and guaranteed rooms. I do think the hotel gave us an upgraded room or something for the price of a regular room, because ours was huge, with a pullout couch and a balcony, whereas everyone else had a very typical hotel room. But that's literally it, lol.

We received a free night on our wedding night and they upgraded our room for the other 3 nights we were there.

We're getting a discounted rate for everyone who books for our wedding. If eight rooms are booked FH and I get a free room. They also offer two free shuttle rides (14 people in each) to and from the venue if 15 rooms are booked.

I used the hotel planner here on Wedding wire to block some rooms for our wedding which is on Saturday. The cheapest was $63/night. I don’t know if they’ll give us free rooms but I sure hope so.

I inquired about booking an entire bed and breakfast for some of my guests (getting married in a small town where there are two bed and breakfasts. Hotels are in the bit “cities”). Anyway, they offered nothing to me to make it worth my while to book the entire place for two nights. One even said to just have guests book, and gave sound advice of the fact that some of them might not come to the wedding, but I only wanted to rent out the bed and breakfast for people who needed to be close to my in-laws house where we are getting married and basically have the wedding party and then some family that might be needed for set up, but I decided not to because they also didn’t offer anything for my guests.
