Wedding Gofundme

So with us going back and forth about having a wedding or not. We decided to have one . We are also paying for everything ourselves. Is it bad to do a Gofundme page? Just for a small amount.

Most people will give a gift (monetary or otherwise) coming to your wedding, but that doesn't mean I recommend going into debt to pay for a wedding you can't afford hoping your guests may reimburse you. Have a small wedding you can afford and then any cash gifts you get is just icing on the cake.

I’m going to agree with everyone else, that is a big no no. As a guest I would be shocked to find that a couple who invited me to their wedding had a go fund me for it. I probably wouldn’t even end up going honestly. My husband and I had a 2 year engagement in order to save for our wedding. Plan small and do some cut backs! Hunt for a good deal on a dress, do a cash bar or beer and wine only, have under 100 guests, so a Friday or Sunday wedding... there are so many options for you guys to pull this off! Don’t go asking people for money, it’s just flat out rude.

Yes. It's not really for weddings. Have a honeymoon fund or don't register and you'd get cash.

Don't do this - it's no ones job to pay for your wedding. It's wonderful you want to have one for your friends and family but either scale back to what you can afford, get married and have a big party later, or postpone until you can feasibly fund it yourself.
