Wedding Favors

Meghan, on June 15, 2019 at 8:49 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 24
Hello ladies!

My wedding is not for 2 years.. but.. are wedding favors a yay or nay? I don’t want to have to spend money on something people will throw away. What was your experience with having wedding favors at your own wedding? TIA!❤️

We are still debating on this..... personally I’d rather spend money on food/drink/DJ. That’s what people care about

Favors aren't needed but some guests still appreciate them. So for my wedding we are doubling up and using our favors as the seating assignments for the guests as well. We are having personalized shot glasses but in the glasses there will be a little flag with the guests name and table number on it. There will also be a fountain with our signature drink and a sign that says, "Take a Seat, take a shot, Tyler & Jess Tied the Know" So this way guests can use the favor and take it home if they wish but they're not required to if they don't want to. We wanted to do this so there was still an option of a favor but we also didn't waste the money if some guests choose not to take them because they were used for another purpose as well.

I think they're a yay. It's cute giving people cute little memento of the night but I've seen it's the food ones or practical ones thatre a hit. Also don't spend too much on favors because at the end of the day it is a lot of money per guest. For instance my friend had honey jars that were $4. $4/person doesn't seem so bad but it is if you have a ton of guests in terms of costs.

We're having a photobooth at our wedding that can be considered a favor for the wedding. In my wedding guest experience, the weddings that had little snack or sweets as favors were my favorite. That way you dont have to worry about something getting thrown away because they ate it. But honestly, if you dont want favors that really aren't necessary.

We are doing a photobooth and personalized stadium cups. The leftover stadium cups will be used in our home.

We are having succulents as our favors but they will also double as the seating chart with a little flag in them with names and table numbers.

We are paying so much for the wedding so I don’t think spending an extra couple hundred for the favors is a big deal. We are doing nutella favors so hopefully people take them home, I know I sure would! Any other wedding I went to, if it’s something non-edible, pretty much they are all left behind.

We bought cookie trays from Costco and put 2 cookies in a treat bag with a little thank you note I typed out. We had 0 left!

Nay. Not necessary these days. Great food & drinks are a “thank you” to your guests. But if you want to offer favors, edible ones are typically the only gifts that won’t get tossed/left behind: chocolate, cookie, cake pop, coffee, tea, etc.

I think there’s so many other things that they don’t have to have something to take home. It’s a cute idea but it’s adds up to be a couple hundred dollars or more depending on what you get and how many people you have. That money can go to another part of the wedding or what we are going to do is donate whatever money we would spend on favors and donate it to a non profit in the guests names.

I’m having the same issue but I think I decided on a photo booth! I think a lot of people will get a kick out of that.

Prepare for a whole bunch left behind. My best friend did that last summer. She had only bought 40 and there were 25 left afterwards.

We are doing a photo booth as well. Will that be considered a “party favor” in a sense?

I’ve read so many articles and many of them say yes. For me I’d rather spend the money on a photo booth because that’s something I know my guests will use and cherish those pictures. I was stressing over the fact that I couldn’t find any favors that reflected us or if they did would probably be a waste of money since people would just throw them away. But pictures last forever 💜😊

I plan on having a few different ones so guests can choose. Beer koozies, family tree charms/pendants, and a ton of personalized stadium cups I hope will get used at the wedding to keep plastic waste down. The cost of each is less than $2 an item. The charms/pendants are only $1.50 and that's the most expensive item.

I will be having about 130 guests so I will order about 40 koozies, 50 pendants, and 100 cups

We decided to not do traditional favors. It seems like it's not really a thing anymore. We are having a Polaroid camera for people to take pictures and put it in a guest book for us. They can take some extra pictures and take that home with them as a favor of sorts.

I was in the same boat as y’all!! But I decided to have something anyway. Our wedding idea come from FH military career. I found this picture on Pinterest and have copied the same concept. I found the “soldiers” from our local Dollar Store, also if no one take them then I’ll just given them to my four nephews to play with!!!

We are doing a photo booth. So the guests have unlimited access to that and to prints. We are using that as our favors. Frankly, I think favors are a waste of money. I end up throwing away or losing wedding favors I’ve received at weddings.
