Smart with adding the candy. I would definitely be more inclined to take it if there was chocolate included 😂

We're doing crab mallets with bottle openers on them. It's very us, especially since I have a crab fest for my birthday every year!

You could do flowers seeds for something usable. We are donating to charity in lieu of favors, they send you out little cards for the guests tables explaining this or you can buy favors from charities. (Our charity is in Ireland but I'm sure it's done in other countries too).

I have been going back and forth with this as well. We are having donuts and cake so I made bags for the donuts that have our date and names and they can take them when it’s time to leave. Who doesn’t love food Smiley smile

Thank you all for the comments and suggestions. I think we are going to do seeds and write a sign that says "Let Love Grow" in front of the basket.

Save your money and skip it! We are considering our photo booth a favor. That's it.

We plan to do a popcorn bar and a smores treat thing. Also we will have candy on the cake table. Popcorn is our favorite snack so it works

Favors are absolutely ok to skip. We wanted to do them just because it was affordable and I had the time. We did a couple of hershey kisses in little tulle bags. Most people took theirs (edible favors are always the way to go IMO lol) and the ones that were left behind - we let the venue staff have any they wanted (same with leftover desserts) and then we took home the rest. It was kind of nice to have some chocolate of our own to eat! Ha.

But honestly, favors are totally optional.

We are doing a deck of playing cards! Everyone in both of our families love playing cards and we will definitely be able to use any leftovers! Smiley smile

I am skipping the favors...in lieu of favors we will be making a donation to the local humane society.

I saw a really cute idea where you get glass or plastic cups and give those to your guests at the beginning of the reception so they can use them for drinks, then they take them home. Great idea if you have to rent barware from your caterer anyway (if its already provided, might not be as cost effective). See the link below.

It's totally cool to skip favors, we're not doing them for ours. But if you do decide to do favors, I think the best way to go is something edible like cookies or candy in a presentable bag or gift box.

It is ok to skip! But you could also try to get a favor that could double as something else! For us, we are doing personalized shot glasses as the favor but these shot glasses will also be used as their seating assignments because we are putting flags in the glasses with the guests name and table number. The table with all the shot glasses will have a drink fountain (drink TBD) with a sign that says, "Take and seat, take a shot, Tyler & Jess tied the knot"

Attached is a pic of the shot glass.

We are having a beach wedding so we are doing sunglasses. Haven’t found where we are buying them from yet. We are also considering doing koozies!

Where are you getting your shot glasses from? That’s cute. We thought about getting small plastic ones that’ll just get thrown away! We’re not doing assigned seating. I don’t think!

I'm writing individual notes to each guest and putting them at their place settings thanking them for their friendship, for coming, etc. Personalized as much as possible.

We are buying them from Etsy! These are glass but I'm sure you could find plastic!

My FH and I got etched wine glasses from here http://www.cheapfavorshop.com/ . They turned out great and arrived quickly with none broken!

My fiancé and I ordered Coasters made out of wine corks off of etsy and they were really reasonable. We also ordered bottle openers off of Amazon which were dirt cheap.

I ordered skeleton keys with tags on them as my escort cards and they also double as bottle openers. I also got them super cheap on amazon and they are pretty nice looking and heavy for being so inexpensive. So I'm going to have everyones name and table number on the tag and then a cute sign that says something like "the key to your seat & all future drinks. take me home!" or something. If they get left behind, oh well.
