Wedding favors - yes or no?

Hi! Are wedding guest favors necessary? I just feel like everything I’ve found that isn’t cheap or cheesy is a lot of money to spend on items that our guests may not even want or will just get thrown away. What are your thoughts on this?!

Honestly after reading your question and the responses, my FH and I have decided to skip them. We are getting married outside (forest theme) and were going to do little s'mores bags but decided that most people probably wouldn't take them and even if they weren't going to be expensive to make, most would just get thrown out. I'm sure the kids would have loved them but we decided that they aren't necessary. So thank you for asking this question!

Necessary, no. Fun, yes.. if you choose an affordable treat (like individually wrapped cookies they can eat that day) or something that goes along with your theme.. for example, I purchased (in bulk for really cheap) minnie and mickey ears for my guests to either wear for the day or use for a little while along with other Disney props for the photo booth! Smiley smile

Totally optional! I had the same thought process myself. I ended up going with little mints that say “thank you” on them! 7 dollars for 108. Lol I don’t have a lot of time to think of something that’s going to get left behind anyway

Only necessary if you want them. Most guests don't seem to care at the weddings i've gone to. If I do them it'll be something edible like mini apple pies

I’m on the fence. My wedding is only a couple months away so I’ve gotta decide soon!

I really love those honey jar favors and it would work well with our theme but $3 a jar is just a lot of money. I’m providing take home containers for a dessert table but I feel bad not having presents sitting on the chargers for guests to enjoy.

I don't think they're necessary! I'm having them but they're going to be something edible so I don't feel like they're just wasted
