Do you provide food for your DJ, wedding planner, photographer, etc? If so, can I get sandwiches of burgers for them? And on top of that, do you tip them? Thank you in advance!

No need for apologies. I actually take a lot of pride in the way that I treat my vendors, but I can’t help my true honest feelings towards the whole situation. And again I will stress, no I am absolutely not referring to any of my vendors. I am however absolutely referring to the majority of vendors that I’ve spoken to. I’ve also noticed that it tends to be the lower budget vendors that place a lot more demands then the higher budget vendors do which is ironic to me.

Yes, feed them especially since many include it in their contracts.

Jamie Wolfer has an amazing video on who, how much, and when to tip

DJ, I posted something similar a while back and got slammed for it. I just had a hard time paying for 12 vendor meals (half of the vendors worked 4 hours or less) and with the 20% tips on top of it, it comes to around 30% per vendor above the already steep prices for wedding services. I honestly never heard of paying for worker's meals (probably because I'm a teacher and lucky if I even get the chance to eat). In the end, I came to terms with that's just the way is. Fortunately, I didn't have to change anyone's diapers. 😉

Lol wait a minute you mean to tell me that you don’t get served filet mignon when you work as a teacher every day? Weird…

If a vendor is unprofessional, they should not be hired in the first place. If they are unprofessional after they are booked, you are within your rights to fire them. No vendor should be rewarded with a tip for bad service or no shows. It's a thank you for going above and beyond the call of duty.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I honestly didn’t know that I needed to provide food to my vendors. A wedding is so expensive when you calculate everything!!!!! I wanted to do things right that’s why I posted this question to educate myself. I’m a teacher too! Ugh!

I wanted to treat my vendors well too! I agree with you 100% that people who are working for a company, making a minimal wage should definitely be tipped for their hard work. I wasn’t sure that owners (my photographer, videographer, the wedding planner) have to be tipped since I’m giving them business and I didn’t ask for any discount. Plus I made my payments on time. If tipping them is necessary, I would tip them too. I just wanted to make sure that I don’t make a mistake and offend anyone without even realizing it. Lol
