I’m getting married in August of 2020. When is a good time to look for dresses?

I was told as soon as possible. You need about 6-8 weeks for alterations so you want to be sure you have your dress with enough time to get it all done.

Now would definitely be a good time! I got my dress off the rack but I ordered my veil and it took a month for the veil to get in!

Now because you don't know how long it may take for you to find THE dress, or if you may need alterations? Or how long the shipping may take? I am getting married in early October, I found my dress a week ago and I will be receiving it in May 2020.
