Wedding Dress shopping and Covid19

Hallie, on March 31, 2020 at 10:35 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 8
Hello all!
I am looking for advice. My wedding is in September and I have yet to order a wedding dress and now due to COVID all the dress shops here are closed indefinitely. I’m worried that I won’t get a dress I love in time! How long did it take you guys to receive your dresses after purchasing? Any ideas on where to shop for a dress online?

    Hi
I went to Anthropology- BHLDN and tried on several dresses. After going to several boutiques, I had only one dress in mind so I went online - BHLDN and ordered the dress. It came in 2 weeks.

I would also recommend BHLDN as they have dresses that are already made which allows quick shipping and also returns. Maybe also look at Lulu’s as well. I’m not sure how long Azazie takes but could be good to look into. I ordered a Stella York dress from a bridal salon and it took 3 months to come in to give you an idea.

Definitely recommend BHLDN. You can order as many as you want and return what you don’t want. Make sure you read the return policy so you understand it but they have beautiful dresses.

Check Still White. I bought my first dress on there from a bridal salon across the country. Some of the ones listed are used, but some are brand new, as mine was. I took my own measurements and new I would be a size 20 in standard designer gowns, and 18 in DB gowns. My Maggie Sottero dress fit like a glove upon arrival (less than a week). I am now selling that gown unworn on poshmark and fb marketplace because I fell in love with a totally different style. I think buying one online (especially like Still White or any reputable site) might be your best bet at this point, even if you need to do some alterations.

I tried 2 dresses from David’s Bridal both were ordered online and arrived within a week! The good thing is they have a 14 day return policy. Just don’t be too indecisive like me and end up with 2 dresses 🤷‍♀️

I bought my dress from a bridal salon, it took 3 months to come in even though they said it normally takes 6-9 months depending on what dress you order. Since bridal salons are closed right now, not sure if that would be a good option even if they open up again in a couple of weeks/months because you would still need time for alterations. I would look online for now.

I have ordered several from David's Bridal. The shipping was slightly delayed because of the coronavirus, but once the dresses finally shipped, I received them very quickly. I didn't encounter any problems when I shipped back the ones that I didn't like. 🙂
