The budget is what YOU are comfortable with and what you can afford. everyones budget varies. i went WELL over my original budgeted price. but my grandmother was happy to front the money and i paid her back over the months before our wedding. original budget - $1000. actual cost (roughly) $2500 with veil. then alterations separate.

This is mine. Got it for $599 at David's Bridal! The good thing about this day and age is there are a variety of dresses out there that should fit any budget! Try not to worry about how much other people spend on dresses, sit down and figure out how much you are willing to spend from your wedding budget on this dress and start searching from there! You've got this

I paid $99 for my wedding dress and $29 for my reception dress. I'm not much of a dress person so I knew I would never wear them again, no daughters to pass it down to, wanted a very simple dress.

I didn’t want to spend too much on a dress. I am getting married by a waterfall, then photos at a beach so I needed something light as well.
I gave myself a budget of $250-300, mainly cause I know stylists will always wow you with dresses out of your budget. This gave me some mental wiggle room in case they came with a more expensive dress that would be less than $500.
My mom ended up buying me my dress as a wedding gift. It was $450 on sale. I ended up paying $500 for alterations. The dress being shown is during my first alterations appointment. Wedding dress prices 5

My dress was $1600, plus about $700 on alterations. It was at the top of my budget. Figure out how much you can spend on a wedding and then write down the “must haves” like dress, cake, etc. and an approximate price for each. That way it will give you a ballpark idea of what price point your dress should be.

So sorry, I cannot post pics of my dress since FH is right next to me. But totally go to my page to see my dress Smiley heart I spent $1.6K before alterations, about $2.3K (expecting) after alterations + accessories. It's a Stella York gown, so pretty affordable designer. Smiley heart

Just be cautious, and shoot low on your budget because alterations and accessories will raise your budget a little bit, as you can tell by my numbers.

I originally had a budget of $3K, I thought that was a healthy budget. I found a dress that I loved that was over my budget, I was planning on going back to buy it. But then I found another beautiful dress, veil, and added a skirt to make it fuller all for around $2.9K. I felt so good after for staying under my budget and for still feeling beautiful in my dress. I would spend what's comfortable to you.

I spent $900 on my dress. It was more than I had wanted to spend, but I absolutely fell in love with the dress. Like pps have said, only you know what you can afford to spend, and what you feel comfortable with. There are beautiful dresses in every price bracket, so don't feel like you have to buy a dress for several thousand dollars just because it is the "thing to do" if you don't want to.

I agree with the others, only you can determine your budget. I got my dress from a bridal consignment. The original bride paid over $1400. I purchased for $700.

I didn't want to spend more than $1,000 on my dress. I know I will be wearing it one time and I just couldn't bring myself to pay more than that. I ended up with a dress that is about $750 and I love it.

I spent $1900 on mine - hasn’t come in yet so no clue how much alterations will cost! You can definitely find a great dress at that price point if not even 1/2!!
