Wedding Dress Order Arrival Late

Meegan, on February 5, 2020 at 10:45 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 4
I am looking for some guidance on how to handle my wedding dress order. I ordered a dress the first week of September, 2019. I was told my dress would arrive mid December. I then received an email from the bridal salon informing me my dress would arrive mid February. I immediately responded reminding them they assured me it would be mid December. They responded they were confident the dress would arrive mid January, first part of February. We are now in the first week of February, I have emailed them and called them and the receptionist always tells me she will give the message to my sales consultant. My sales consultant is not returning my calls or my emails. I am getting married March 21st. She ordered my dress two sizes too large, therefore I know I will need extensive alterations. I feel as if she is A.) deliberately holding my dress so to gouge me in expedited alterations, or B.) she is avoiding me because there is an issue with the delivery of my dress. I want out of my contract and I want to be reimbursed. Has anyone had this happen to them, and were they successful getting out of their contract and getting reimbursement? Or, am I overreacting? I will add, I live five hours away from Dallas, Texas, where I ordered the dress. Therefore, I cannot just drop in, nor can I just go to an alterations appointment. I have to plan my trip in for a fitting.

You definitely need to escalate this. Ideally you would go to the shop, but since you can't I would call and ask to speak to the manager or owner. This is definitely one of the situations you need to push. If they won't return you call in a reasonable amount of time I would call back. Call in the morning when they first open, if you can't get answers call again that same day. Do you have anybody close to the Salon that could go down there? Though the shop can't necessarily control if the dress arrives on time, they can give you information. Which they are failing to do.

You need to be persistent. It's getting down to the wire and you'll need alterations. Call the hell out of them. You may also need to make a surprise trip

My wedding planner escalated this to the manager of the boutique and guess what arrived yesterday? They are doing two fittings in one day. Thanks for the feedback, ladies!
