Wedding Dress Online

Hello ladies! I am newly engaged and recently started to look at dresses online on sites like DressAfford and JJ’s House but was wondering if anyone has ordered from them recently?? Or if you ordered from somewhere else and didn’t have any issues. Just want to check my options since I’ve seen mixed reviews!

I ordered my dress from Lulus for $108 on sale, regular price $120. I love it! I ordered two sizes just in case but the dress was true to size and good quality material. I was worried that something so inexpensive would look cheap but it doesn’t. And it only needs minimal alterations!

Both the sites you listed are knockoff sites that steal photos of true designer dresses and try and remake it using cheaper materials. It’s a gamble. Some legitimate sites are Azazie, cocomelody, Lulus, BHLDN, and ASOS.

I bought my dress from JJs House. For me, it was a great value - very nice materials, well-made - I had no issues.

How recently did you order it? I feel like I’ve seen more negative than positive reviews lately lol

About 2 1/2 months ago. I ordered the dress with custom measurements and expedited shipping and it came in relatively quickly....I then ordered a bolero jacket via regular shipping and that seemed to take forever to get here, though part of that may have been my patience - ha! Still, I would spring for the expedited shipping if I did it again.

Here's the thing, though. Any online ordering (vs seeing, touching, trying in-store) comes with some risk, and you need to assess your particular situation for the amount of risk you can absorb. For me, this was totally worth it -- we are a second time around couple, older, having a less formal, less structured wedding than others are having. We're having it at our country club where we and many of our friends play golf, and are planning just a really fun night w/ awesome food/drink, great music/dancing, etc., but not much focus has gone into aesthetics or many traditional elements. For that reason, I was looking for a simple, knee-length ivory dress.....something that suggested bridal without screaming it. It is satin, sleeveless, with an illusion back and very pretty buttons along the back. The jacket I later ordered is also ivory satin and matches perfectly.

But.....I knew it was a risk going in. For me, having a chance to avoid going shopping made it worth it.....if it turned out horribly, I would donate the materials without being out much $, and I still had time to go to plan B. Every situation is different, so I really can't tell you what to do, much as I'd like to. If you do go that route, I would say 2 things: know what style dress looks good on your body type, and look at the reviews on that site, paying attention to those who posted pictures. Seeing my dress on an actual (non-model) person made a difference....and actually prevented me from ordering a different dress.
    Good luck to you!

I just ordered a dress from ASOS. It should be coming this week, actually. Although, I have been looking for MONTHS at a dress from JJsHouse. It seems like it's hit or miss to order from them, but I've actually seen quite a few people with good reviews for them on this site, and most people saying "stay away" are only basing that off of it being a "knock off" site but have no experience with them. If I end up not liking the dress I got from ASOS, then I have a month to return it free of charge, and at that point, I'll probably go with the JJsHouse dress.

Noooooooo, don’t place any order on Dressafford, I did that mistake. I loose my money with them. My wedding day was coming and I didn’t have a dress to wear. It’s what you want? It was a very stressful experience. I don’t know how to post pictures here to show you the terrible job they do on dresses, I received a very ugly dress, nothing like the picture, bad sewing quality, no refund on customized dresses, and it was the wrong color...it was peach color. If someone can instruct me how to post pictures I’ll show you the one I ordered and the one I received that was terrible!!!

The dress I received from Dressafford: It has no shape. I have to use my hands to shape it when my friend took the picture of the back. The liner is peach color with white lace, instead of champagne liner with ivory lace as the Original Picture, and the sewing is so unprofessional. Wedding Dress Online 3
