Wedding Dress Help

Alisia, on March 19, 2020 at 11:38 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 3

Hi All,

I need a little assistance in buying a wedding dress for the future. I consider myself to be a thrifty bride and a thrifty type of person so I'm strongly considering buying 2nd hand. I would love to hear from some newlyweds, brides to be and veteran brides who bought 2nd hand about the experience. So I guess Ill just list my questions below and if you guys have any other advice on the matter I'd deeply appreciate it!! Thanks so so so much in advance!!

1.) How much would you or did you spend on your 2nd hand wedding dress ?

2.)Did you buy online or did you have an in store experience? Was it the experience good or bad?

3.)What kind of things did you look for in terms of quality ? (i.e did it need alterations or some TLC ?)

4.)How was the overall experience be it online or in store, how was the experience ? How could it of been better if the experience was bad ?

Again Thank You All!!

Hope to hear from you guys!!

Hey!! I didn’t buy a 2nd hand dress but I did look and try some on. All of the dresses were gorgeous and clean and they were priced $150-$600. The only problem I had was seeing a dress I liked and it not being my size! I went to a local wedding gown/prom thrift shop in my town!

I bought a secondhand dress! My situation was unique and I just happened to be in the right place at the right time. I got connected with a bride who was my size who didn't have room in her closet anymore, so she sold it to me really cheap (under $50 including shipping). The price was low enough that it was worth the gamble to me because I knew if it didn't fit, I could always resell it. Luckily it fit me perfectly without alterations other than having to have the bottom of the skirt hemmed about an inch.

Good luck! I hope you find the secondhand dress of your dreams! Smiley smile

I bought a gown second hand that didn’t work out. My advice is to try on gowns that are a similar style, especially if you’re trying on a gown online that you won’t see until after purchase. Also from that same brand! It helps to know how the sizing runs for the brand you’re buying. Check your measurements and compare to the labels sizing.

Also, check the sellers return policy.
Good luck!! I think it’s a great idea to buy second hand, but be careful, so it doesn’t cost you more in the long run!!
