Wedding Dress Help!

Delaney, on May 20, 2020 at 9:00 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 1 7
I was looking at wedding dresses to get an idea for styles that I might like and I fell in love with the designer Olivia Botegga. All of the dresses are handmade out of Russia, which means I have to order online. I found these 2 that I absolutely love, and am having trouble deciding between the 2. I love the shorter train one and how sparkly it is (the picture doesn’t depict that well) but I also love the amount of lace on the long train. I do not like the little squiggle looking things on the long one and am worried that because I am only 5’2” the long train will be too dramatic and it will get in the way at the reception. The first 2 pictures are the shorter train dress and the last 2 pictures are the longer train dress showing the squiggly things). Which one do you guys like better? Wedding Dress Help! 1

I like the 2nd picture. - I think what you should do is find a bridal shop that has the dress you want or at least the style you want and try it on. The last thing you want to do is order a dress that you think is perfect then dislike on you. I had a vision for what I wanted and when I tried on the dress, all I saw was a charlie tuna from Starkist (it was a mermaid dress)... It took 4 dress styles to finally find the dress that was "perfect" for me.

Oh this is hard! I typically do not like large, poofy dresses. But I think I am loving the 2nd dress because of the detail in the fabric! It is so pretty! Both are beautiful though.

If the length of the train is the only thing holding you back from that one, I would speak to a seamstress about it. A bustle could be added and would not be in the way. You just want to make sure the weight would not be too much for you to carry around all night.

I also really like the 2nd dress. And I agree with the other comment, try on a similar style to both. What I thought I loved and wanted was not what I got. What I ended up falling in love with was a style I didn’t even consider. After trying on about 12 dresses I had a very clear idea of what I wanted and what looked best on me.

Those kind of look like Hayley Paige dresses too! It'd be an option to look at if you wanted to try it on before ordering online!

I think you need to go to a bridal shop and try on dresses with similar length trains - that's the only way you'll really know which train length works for you. Then with that information, you can make a better decision. Good luck!

I personally love the detailing of the lace on the 2nd one!
