Wedding dress help!!!

Christina, on June 13, 2019 at 11:39 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 15

So.. I've recently moved to a new city.. and all of my friends are back home. I'm trying to avoid going into a bridal shop alone so I'm really looking for something online. I'm having some trouble finding reputable websites that aren't a scam...

I'm looking for something simple. I'm not picky about style. I just don't want to spend over $300.00 I'm pretty practical about what that's going to get me.

I was wondering if anyone's had any luck finding dresses online? Which website did you use?

I got my dress from David's Bridal for $400. Orfinslyl $500 or $600 (cannot remember). They always run sales and deals on their site/in store. I'd definitely check.

I got mine off forever 21 surprisingly. It was this white gown all the reviews said they used as a wedding dress

My FMIL bought her dress off amazon and she looked gorgeous is it! Paid $100 for a boat neck, lace cap sleeves, tea length dress. Very 1950s style. Make sure to always check the reviews. She did and she loved her dress.

You might try Etsy. A lot of really beautiful designs in a range of prices. As with other online options, really read the reviews. There's a vlogger in Ireland who detailed her experience and she looked great. https://youtu.be/imkh50hkyts

Also, don't let the lack of local friends/family keep you from having that bridal experience. There's always Skype or FaceTime if you want to share the experience with someone. And, unless you know what you look like in gowns, trying different styles on is the only way to really know what type of gown to get. I ended up with a completely different style gown than I had originally envisioned. So maybe just pop in to your local David's Bridal and try things on. Then you can go wherever you want to get your dress.

I live in a city away from my family, I was like you and was hesitant but went alone because I didn’t know what size etc. I have to tell you I think I got MORE attention in the salon because I was alone from my attendant. Just know you are going in to get ideas, don’t put pressure on yourself to buy and you’ll be fine. Then you’ll at least have an idea of what to look for. Heck then you may be able to find that same dress online that someone is selling for resale! FYI search a resale bridal shop in your area. That’s where I found my dress, was “last years sample dress” new with tags $4000 Allure dress I paid $900. 😳

Try lulus.com - you can likely find something really nice for that price range. They have free returns also so order a few items and return what you dislike.

Look at buying “bought but never worn” or “gently used” dresses from other brides online! I got my dress from another bride on Facebook Marketplace that had bought my dress but never wore it so it was brand new but a ton cheaper than if I had gotten it in store! Also, there’s preownedweddingdresses.com, stillwhite.com, tradesy.com, poshmark, and even eBay. Before getting one, you probably want to at least go in a store to see what size you are in wedding dresses, though! Wedding dress sizes are weird so you usually have to go up 1-2 normal dress sizes!

I found one!! Azazie! I did spend a little over what I was looking for but for $418 (including shipping) I got the most perfect dress! I was surprised at the quality and I'm absolutely in love! It doesn't feel cheap or anything.. plenty of material. I dont feel like I'm going to rip it when I sit down Smiley xd

I second this, there was a dress at Macy's that looked so eerily similar to my wedding dress (but for a fraction of the cost) that I had to go over and look at it. So they definitely have some options and it's an "evening gown" so you're not technically buying a wedding dress by yourself lol.
