Wedding Dress Garment Bag & Veil Storage

Becky, on September 7, 2017 at 9:43 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 4

My dress was shipped to me and did not come in a garment bag. Anyone purchase a good quality garment bag to store their dress in? How did/are you store(ing) your veil until the big day? I have an A-line gown and cathedral length veil to give you an idea of size. I've looked on Amazon and seen mixed reviews mostly (or not a lot of reviews).

ETA: and hangers? What type of hanger are you using for your dress?

Thanks so much!!

My mother had some dress hangers for her own dresses that I could borrow (satin wrapped hangers) as well as wooden hangers. I just used a wooden hanger to hang the dress. As for a garment bag, I had browsed stores such as kohls, walmart, and the like (wherever luggage is sold) and also looked on Amazon. I'd recommend Amazon, although I personally didn't use a different garment bag than the one I received.

I ordered an acid-free cotton garment bag from Foster Stephens and I'm really happy with it. Great quality and it came with a hanger and tissue paper for proper storage.

Tip, if you are wearing a slip underneath that helps the dress flare out, hang it up instead of leaving it in the bag. It will help it naturally dewrinklizeSmiley smile that's what my dress fitter told me.

I want to hang it up but have nothing to hang it in or on. That's my issue.
