Wedding dress for winter desert wedding

Suzanne, on September 20, 2019 at 3:48 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 4
I am second guessing my wedding dress that I bought already. My ceremony will be outdoors in the desert in Tucson AZ in December. Because of cold weather (65 degrees) conditions and the dress being a tank top plunge style top I’m not sure if I should face the cold or buy a coverup for the wedding ceremony. I think it would be too late to return and buy a new long sleeve dress at this point and I really like my dress. My bridesmaids say to face the cold since they don’t want to wear a silk shawl and look like “grandmas” and they don’t want me covering up the dress. The reception will be indoors btw. What are your guys’ opinions?

December in Tucson is a little unpredictable. But 65 and sunny is actually pretty nice. How long is your ceremony going to be? If it’s a fairly short ceremony, I’d face the cold and warm real quick afterwards.

I’d face the cold down here in Tucson. Smiley smile it’s not that cold and it’s most likely to be sunny out so I wouldn’t even worry about it. Lol at least it won’t be 110 and like 60% humidity like it is in July. 😎

I got married in December in Sonoma and the temps were in the 60s during the day. I wore a vintage stole and gave my bridal party faux fur wraps to wear while they were outside. None of us looked like "grandmas." But if you really don't want to cover your dress, as long as the sun is out you should be fine.

    Hey Suzanne!

I totally understand what you mean about wanting to keep your beautiful bridal look intact but still not feel too cold for your ceremony!!

    What is your dress like?

Have you thought about perhaps wearing a bridal cape or perhaps something like an extravagant white feather coat? You are definitely able to find something that looks like ti part of your ceremony outfit as opposed to looking like you were cold and threw on a shawl! I checked out Pinterest for some suggestions for you to give you some inspiration!
