Wedding dress budget

What's everyone's budget for your wedding dress? Or, if you've already found the one... How much was it? Torn between "it's only one day, why spend so much" and "it's only one day, might as well." LOL Trying to decide if I want to spend the money on my dream dress, Martina Liana 1059.

Yes! If you're going on a Saturday, good luck. I went by myself the first time for a weekday appointment, and I could take my time and try things on. But I went back with my mom and my sister on that Saturday, and it was MISERABLE. I hate crowds and end up with social anxiety, and tight quarters with huge groups of ten or so women per group was absolutely overwhelming. I think I would've enjoyed my second time a lot more and not rushed into a dress if we took a few minutes and were actually able to focus on anything. I bought it because it was my mom's one trip up here, and I ended up regretting it.

Also, the consultants were exhausted. It made for a pretty terrible experience overall. If you are going, I would suggest early Saturday - I went back to exchange my first poor decision on Early Saturday. We were still rushed but at least it wasn't as crowded - or Sunday. Plenty of options, I just didn't get nearly enough time to think and breathe with the dresses. I love my dress but that was more luck than anything lol. Good luck!

My original budget was 800 because I for sure did not want to spend more than 1k after alterations. My dress ended up being 720! Perfectly in my budget. My sister recently got married and had the same budget her dress ended up being 1400

My FH and I didn't set a budget for our outfits. I ended up spending $1,900 on my dress, veil and corset (it didn't need any alterations luckily), and he spent $450 and got a custom suit from men's warehouse.

Sorry, I don't have a picture of my FH's suit saved on my work computer, lol.

I had set my budget at $500 but was willing to give a little wiggle room if necessary, specifically because I had my eye on a dress that was $600. Once I tried it on though I knew it wasn't the one. Ended up finding my dress for only $200 and the belt for $100 and then my mom surprised me and bought both! Even better was the fact that I didn't need any alterations.

I originally said I wanted to spend about $500 and my grandpa (who paid) said "there is no way you're going to find a dress for under $1000 so that's my budget"

I found one for $450 (haven't had it altered yet)! Not on purpose, just trying on dresses at a shop. Told them by budget was $800.

My dress is a Martina Liana 895. It was I believe $2800 before alterations. But I wouldn’t go back and spend less. I discovered I loved the bling and I really don’t think I could have found anything I loved for less. I say go for it!

My budget was $500. I found my dress on Poshmark as a brand new “sample “ dress. I paid $295 but because I had money in my account from selling stuff I only paid $50 out of pocket. Alterations are $350. Shoes, hair comb and tiara bring it to an even $500 in total! Lol

My dress was $300 alterations were $50. I had bought a more expensive dress and then had regret and one day on my lunch went to Davids Bridal and found one on the rack I loved. Wound up selling the original for what I purchased it for. I am a super frugal single mom who could never spend a ton on a dress I only get to wear once. But that's just me my best friend spent 10K on hers, I wanted to vomit when she was paying. But it was truly beautiful and she wore it well.

I had a budget of $300 but spent $200 and didn't need alterations. I made a wish list in my DB account first with all the dresses I liked that I could afford. When I went in, they pulled a few of those dresses, but they surprised me with a few more that were on sale! I'm talking GORGEOUS gowns that were $600+ that were on sale for less than $300. So if you make your wish list and set your budget, they might find sale dresses in store that are within your price range and style.

I didn't set a dress budget, however the budget for our entire wedding is $5000.00. I found my dress on Amazon and it cost me $35.00. 😍 It is everything I've ever wanted in a wedding dress.Wedding dress budget 3

I had a budget of about $2,000. I, actually, found my dream dress on Facebook Marketplace for only $200!! It was brand new without alterations. The bride just decided to wear another dress instead. My dress would've been over $1,000 so I was so excited to get such a great deal! Alterations were only $310, and my petticoat was $80 so I only spent a little under $600 for my dress stuff!
