Wedding dress alteration.

What’s the norm to get my wedding dress altered? I just need to take in on the sides a little. How much did you guys spend!? Help!!! I already spent sooooo much on my dress but lost a few pounds too many. 🙄

My alterations cost $200. I needed the sides taken in, straps shortened, and an under bustle. The seamstress also removed some of the lining on my train. Not too much needed on my end.

I had mine hemmed, the zipper shortened (I have a short torso apparently 🤣), cups added so I can go braless, & the sides taken in. I paid $370.

For my dress she's doing the hem, bustle, adding cups and bringing in the top a little bit. It's costing me $250.

I don’t know all the costs yet because mine only charges in portions of what she’s doing per appointment. I’ve paid $80 total for a corset back and tulle repair so far. She said I also need straps and she’s going to be making more ornate ones(not spaghetti straps) plus hem.

I expect to pay $250-$300 total, she’s very affordable.

I added beading to mine, which was 75$ and then we needed to take it out, which will be 40$. So 115$ total. It's a small family owned business that does in house alterations, so we lucked out!

It completely depends on the fabric, cut, beading, lace, etc. Mine is ridiculous and built in (850) and my friend's was 1000. And hers was such a simple dress...but they ended up having to take it in A LOT (her shop ordered the wrong size) aaanyway. Lots of things factor in.

Hi Amanda! When have you decided to take your dress in for alterations? Are there many alterations to be made to it?
