$180 for a hem (complex lace), taking the bust in, 3 point bustle, and a custom veil. Definitely shop around but don't compromise on quality. I went to someone who does it out of her house and worked several years at a bridal shop before starting her own company 4 years ago. I budgeted around $400-500 to be safe.

Mine was $610 at the in house seamstress at the boutique I got my dress from. She's doing a lot though: taking in the bust, adding cups, adding detachable tulle straps (getting married in strict Catholic Church) adding sewn-in hoop, hemming, sewing on my beaded belt and putting in a French bustle. So considering all the work she's doing I think it's very reasonable plus she's the best in town. I was nervous to take my dress anywhere else.

$500. Most of that went to hemming and bustle points. Everything else fit well off the rack

Considering that my dress was <$500, I hope the thing fits like a glove when I get home. It was a bit loose in the bust area back in July so hopefully I've added a little weight up top.

Mine was $650. I do live in Long Island, NY where things tend to get a little pricey...guess it depends on what you are getting done

For my dress, I had it hemmed, cups added, and a bustle. My dress is lace so the hemming was really complicated. I got a really good deal on the alterations, though, and mine are going to be $250.

I am a little worried that wgen my dress comes in it will cost a lot to alter. I don't think it will need much, just worried because of what I see on here. It looks like it can really be all over the place
