Wedding day timeline

Ashley, on May 27, 2020 at 11:53 AM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 13
I had to change our wedding date from May to September of this year. With the new date, there will be a small wedding before mine and I can’t figure out the timeline because of it. I wasn’t aware of this until I decided on this date and it’s a throwing me off. We can be at the venue to set up at 12 in the reception hall only (we are doing setup...which includes family and friends). We can’t be anywhere else until 3pm. I want to have the ceremony as early as possible and was thinking maybe 5:30. Which means the photographer needs to start at 3 basically. I was thinking that we will have to get ready (me, moms and bridesmaids) at home or in a hotel but then I don’t know who is supposed to be supervising the set up. This all just seems like a disaster to me. I know I’m upset because I don’t think this new wedding date will happen either but I’m 33 and can’t wait any longer. I’m just at a complete loss and need some advice.

I completely understand, I’m also 33 years old and we want two more kids (more since we already have two). But its looking too risky to try and do it in September for us. My FH has to keep reminding me that the date doesn’t really matter. Having the least amount of stress during your wedding is important. Honestly I don’t think that going to be possible in September. I know it sucks

I could. We could hire the one for the venue. I just wanted to keep the budget low and do a lot myself.

Also, yes it does matter when you’re 33 and have no children at all.

So technically you can't start set up at 12p right because they won't let you into the area you need to be until 3pm? what i did was photos at around 1p and then set up at around 3-330p for my 5pm ceremony. not sure if that would work for you doing it in that order instead.

We can set up on the inside only at 12 but the outside and access to the bridal suite can’t happen until 3. So I can’t take pictures until 3. Sorry it’s confusing to explain.

I should have also said that we only have a photographer for 6-7 hours so she needs to come around 3 for it to make sense. I wish there was a edit button lol.

Girl do not stress yourself out, make the investment and pay for a day of coordinator. It is a game changer and you and your entire family will thank you for it later.

Hey Ashley! I'm so sorry, that sounds so frustrating. I would look into hiring a Day of Coordinator (100% worth the cost) and appoint 3-5 people you trust (not you) to set-up the venue since you can only set it up the day of of the wedding. The Coordinator won't set-up everything, but they can help direct the setup to ensure it looks how you want it. I don't think you or anyone that's in the wedding (like parents or bridal party) will realistically have time to set it up the day of, you guys will be super busy getting ready, especially since they are only giving you a couple of hours to do it. Are you using a rental company for chairs and tables or are you using the venue's?

Thank you for the advice. I thought the venue had one I could pay for, but they stopped doing that. The lady that runs the venue said she would set up a meeting with me to help me a timeline. She’s there to help with the ceremony as well, just not the whole wedding. So I’m thinking if she can help with the timeline, I might be able to find a family member or friend to be in charge but I’m not too sure. The venue has all the chairs, tables and table clothes, which they set up so all they have to do is decorate.
