Wedding Credit Card?

Have any of you had wedding credit cards? Like for rewards/cash back? We are thinking about doing this. If any of you have, which card did you use?

The only way this is okay is if you already have the funds to pay off whatever you'll be using it for. Credit card usage is great for your credit and other benefits (miles and points). But if you're using it as your primary method of payment because you're short on funds, it's not a good idea.

I don't have one specifically for wedding stuff, but I have a Capital One Quicksilver that I use for everything and then pay off each month just to get cash back! If you are making large purchases, I recommend it! Plus they are more secure than carrying cash or using your bank card.

I have a discover card for most wedding stuff. It's great because I can keep my wedding expenses/records all on one card. We also just got a Citi AAdvantage card for travel. If we spend 3k in the first 3 months (Which we definitely are with booking honeymoon and travel to/from wedding), you get 50k extra miles. It'll also be so nice with the free baggage and getting to board before most people.

Like everyone said, you should be paying these off as you make purchases. Debt is not fun.

My FH and I recently opened a Citi Double Cash card that we use for all shared expenses, including the wedding. It gives 2% cash back on all purchases, no special categories. We like the simplicity and think it's a pretty good deal

We are using a Chase card for ours. We put all the purchases on it and make sure to pay it off every month before any interest is added. We're planning on putting all the cash back into our savings account for our next home.

But, as others have said, I would not recommend using a credit card unless you know you can pay it off right away. If you are using it because you do not have the money to pay for the wedding now, postpone or downsize the wedding. I would not want to go into debt for it.

I've been needing a new credit card bc I had chase slate which has absolutely no benefits (it was my starter credit card and the only one I could get with no credit history) so we got me a chase freedom and they gave me 300$ cash back if I spent 500$ in the first 3 months. So we put the suits and a few other wedding expenses on there right away and got the cash back which was awesome! We continued using it for wedding expenses bc its 1.5% cash back and interest free for the first 15 months or so. We nearly have our balance paid off now but it was nice to have those benefits.

I love my jetblue card as well as bank of america travel rewards. Credit cards can offer great rewards - I won't tell you to be responsible and make sure you pay it all off immediately because your an adult and can handle it Smiley smile

Chase Sapphire. Had 50K point sign up bonus. Can use for travel or statement credit. Used this and my United explorer card. I charge ALL monthly expenses and pay off balance in full ea month. Maximize my rewards. Getting a nearly free Honeymoon as a result

LilBit...ahhh, you've mastered the art of credit. Congratulations! I love hearing great credit reward stories. Enjoy that nearly free honeymoon -- your responsibility has earned that one for you.

We're getting a card that rewards us with airline miles so we can put it towards honeymoon airfare. Most likely the AA Advantage card. We paid off one of our credit cards and are closing the account so that we can just have two cards between the two of us. If you can handle having a credit card and pay off what you charge right away then I say go for it if it's simply for the rewards, but if you are just going to rack up a bunch of charges I say be cautious for fear of getting yourself buried in CC Debt.

I have chase freedom too. But I pay it off each month so I don't have to pay any interest. I do get rewards. I sometimes do 50 cash back to come off of my bill. Or this month I used it to get a gift card for amc movie theater.

We're getting married in a Marriott, so we have their rewards card for wedding expenses. We pay it off monthly, but we're getting TONS of extra points because of holding the wedding there.

We aren't using any credit cards, just because we prefer to pay with cash/debit. I know a lot of people who do utilize the points and rewards on credit cards, but they are very disciplined. I wouldn't recommend using credit unless you're 100% for sure able to pay off the balance each month.

I used my Capital One card. Make sure you are paying off the card each month though, you wouldn't want to find yourself in debt. H and I used our points to upgrade our flights on the honeymoon.

I already have an Amazon rewards cc. I pay off my wedding charges right away, but I used my points to get my shoes for the ceremony!
