Wedding colors

Mj, on July 20, 2017 at 3:21 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 15

Hey all!

So I am having my wedding at a restaurant on a golf course and I am torn on a color scheme and the color for the bridesmaid dresses. I love the idea of maroon or burgundy but I'm afraid it will be to dark. My wedding will be in June in New England so good weather but normally sunny and humid. The men will be wearing a black tux so it also need to go with that.

Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated!

Everything goes with black, so you can drop that worry.

You can choose any color you love. If you think it's too dark, you can lighten it up with accessories, table linens, flowers etc.

I love maroon and burgundy. You can also try I lighter shade of these like darker than blush but lighter than maroon. Like a dark rose or light maroon. That will match nicely with the green of the scenery as well as the black of the tuxes.

Thank you guys! I forgot about the accessories and decorations can help with that. I was just focused on thinking outside with so much green and it being around sunset when we take pictures.

Dusty rose is a nice color if you don't want too dark, thats what I'm doing for wedding in April, but I think burgundy or maroon are very pretty also!!

Maroon is lovely, why not pair it with some lighter colors to soften it up, like blush, pink, and gold or blush, pink, and silver? You can incorporate dark colors but keep the feeling bright and light by breaking up the dark colors, maybe put the girls in pink or gold dresses with maroon bouquets and accessories.

How about a Magenta, which is a lighter shade of burgundy?

Thank you all!! That's why I thought of Maroon BeachBride. Plus all my Brides maid love Maroon and I think it would look great on all of them. But I like the idea of breaking it up in the bouquets WWjo!

With dark or saturated colors, A light hand is generally best. I would suggest cream or ivory (white might be a bit harsh) table linens with maroon napkins and maroon and blush flowers or something like that. just make sure your ladies aren't in heavy dresses if you want to take photos outside!

Burgundy is beautiful! I'm a bit biased because the pictures @WWJo were in my Pinterest board :-)

Have you selected your dress yet? If not, you may want to think about finding your dress before you land on a color scheme. I fell in love with a baby pink with an ivory overlay dress, which would have completely clashed with my original color selection of coral, sage, and champagne.

We went with dusty rose, navy, and burgundy for our June wedding. I don't think anything was too dark, we didn't go overboard with the colors either.

You can totally do maroon as long as you match it with some lighter colors! I like this palate since it has the whites and light pinks but then has the bright pink for that little pop of color!
