Wedding Colors... i cannot decide!

Breanna, on August 9, 2019 at 4:14 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 8
So for my wedding I am thinking late August or early September. I really want to be different and have black or dark grey bridesmaid dresses with bright florals and wood. Not too much color. But then again, I don't want it to look bad. I also am wanting my wedding around sunset or at night. Let me know your thoughts!

    Hey Breanna,

First congratulations! It’s a very exciting time of your life! Secondly, out of my curiosity, have looked on Pinterest to see if someone else have done something similar? I know the black or dark gray would be lovely with the floral, but I’m not completely sure what you mean by wood. My crazy mind is literally thinking a tree or the little wood samples for cabinets or flooring. Also, is it a good assumption that next August-September?

Pinterest honestly helped me pick my colors. I would have never put them together until I saw someone else do it. Of course I have a different twist than what they did, but still. You can sort of see maybe what others have done and try to find what you actually like. The dress colors and the floral doesn’t sound bad. I think they will be nice. You could always try to do a mock of everything. Have a mock bouquet when you have your ladies try on dresses to see if you like what you are envisioning.

    Good Morning!!

I agree with PP, turn to Pinterest to get an idea of an overall look/mood for your wedding and build from there. I will say that sometimes the colors on Pinterest can be difficult to re-create as some of the photos have filters on them or the dresses have been custom ordered. Have you chosen a venue? Go with colors that will also complement your venue as well, that way you don't work against what you have but rather can build on it. Charcoal is a versatile color, have you thought about your maids wearing a lighter grey and your groomsmen wearing charcoal?

I am gonna hop on the Pintrest band wagon. It is amazing. I found a lot of inspiration there. But I love this idea of charcoal and light grey for the bridal party!

Black or a charcoal grey with any jewel tone (emerald, sapphire, magenta, etc) would look amazing for a fall wedding.

I don't like Pinterest's user interface so google images works too. Now with florals do you mean like printed floral pattern dresses or with bouquets? If your doing darker colors for a later at night wedding make sure that there is alternative lighting around so people don't blend into the night lol.

Yes I’ve looked on Pinterest and haven’t found any inspiration in terms of dark colored attire and bright floral bouquets. I’m planning on having lots of lighting, I just hope it will look okay since I haven’t seen it done before!

I think black bridesmaid dresses would pair great with a colorful bouquet!
