Wedding colors - Don't want it to look like Christmas!! Help!

Lalaluna, on March 4, 2018 at 11:08 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 8

Hi all!

We're having a mid-september wedding and the main colors are teal/emerald green with burgundy and gold accents. We're not having bridal parties so the whole bridesmaid color thing was never really thought about. However, I have two sisters and a brother on my side (along with my parents) and I want to make sure everyone is generally well coordinated for the pictures. My mother already bought a teal/emerald green dress, so I'm not sure what I should put my sisters in. I'm worried it will look too much like Christmas if they wear burgundy. Has anyone had a similar palette and if so, what did you do? Thank you!Smiley heart

Personally, I'd add another complimentary color like mocha or rose gold.

I don’t think it will look like Christmas as the colors are dark.

My wedding is Nov 3 and my colors are emerald navy and gold! I'm doing a deeper shade of navy which I feel will make the emerald pop. All up to you of course but I suggest playing with different shades of navy.

I don't think it will look Christmassy.

One sure fire way to make sure it doesn't is to drop the notion that you get to tell family or anyone else, what color to wear. You can only do that with the bridal party and you chose not to have one.

Your family are capable of dressing themselves. If you want them to coordinate for pictures, just make sure they know your colors and leave the choice of coordinating color up to them.

I'd be more worried about the teal and emerald clashing. Those are pretty disparate shades of green.

Pretty colors. I don't think I would associate burgundy with Christmas.
