Wedding check bounced

A group of cousins (about 4 of them) gave us a $500 check. We were really happy but then the check bounced and we got charged a bounced check fee. I have talked to my cousin about it and she said at least two times she will deposit the funds directly into our bank account. It has been 3 months and...

I agree that the checkwriter should offer to cover the bounced check fee. Sorry that you're in this situation!

Hmm.. I bet you everyone ran for the hills. Sucks that money gets in the way of families being, well, family!

Hope it gets resolved but I probably would have given up long ago. No Christmas card/gift for them.

I wouldn't run it through your bank. Go to hers and get it cashed. If the funds are there, with ID they should cash it for you.

WOW I would of told the other 3 girls that the money they gave the 1 cousin is no where to be found so they can it least figure out where there money went and just say screw it on the check

I just couldn't imagine giving someone a check as a wedding gift and having it bounce. Still boggled over here.

Guys it may take more than a day to get hold of the others or figure out a way to bring it up..I'm curious too though lol!

ETA: what would be really bad is if one cousin got the money from the others and it is still bouncing..hopefully they got the texts and are discussing what to do among themselves. yikes. how awkward.
