Wedding ceremony & Vows.

Danielle, on October 8, 2020 at 5:59 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 5
I have a familiar idea of how the whole ceremony outline is supposed to go and I have a few readings ive been looking at and saved. We plan to write our owns vows and our smaller wedding is October 30th. The past few days my Hubby to be has been asking me about a outline for vows so one of us isn’t writing something much longer than the other and what not. I am not exactly sure myself how long vows typically are. Can anyone give me some ideas on this whole thing? Like anything that will help guide me as well as him would be truly helpful! We also aren’t doing traditional vows either but still keeping the I vow to kinda stuff!!!

We wrote out own vows. His were longer than mine, like 1.5 pages and mine was a single page. We are both “wordsmiths” so it was about ho has the funniest and sweetest. I think I won 🤣

I’m like Stevie Nicks and can turn 5 minutes into 10 😂. He’s like well what about 500 words or something and in my head I’m like I don’t even know what that looks like. I plan on doing like a little paragraph or two about us and then the actual vows. He is not happy about all this writing 😂😂😂 I told him it’s not a huge deal anyways if mines longer or whatever. We have been living together for close to 7 years so!!!

We wrote our vows, but we wrote them completely separately. Vows should take about 2-3 minutes to read. I watched YouTube videos for advice and sample vows. I also Googled sample vows to get ideas.

It’s usually a couple minutes or so from what I’ve seen

    I memorized mine...less than 2 minutes.
He read his, he got choked up...so his went a little longer, 5 mins tops for both of us Smiley smile
Just speak from the heart and it will be lovely. No right or wrong, it's your personal preference .
I included a passage from the bible in my vows, from the book of Ruth. I decided as a young girl, that I would repeat it to my husband someday, and I (finally)did.
My husband spoke about God's plan and how he was blessed when he decided to follow God's plan instead of his own.
Congratulations! It will come to you, you will see. ❤
