We are having an intimate wedding ceremony, and have found the most beautiful nursery and garden to do it. He’s a local place to us, when reaching out to the owner we told her we’d absolutely pay for the time. We are having it at 9am on a Saturday and max time of 30min. Since it is early enough they won’t even be open yet so they won’t have to close or anything like that. Today we went and spoke with her and she just asked for a donation of whatever we thought. I wanted some advice on what a good amount is? $150? $250? Thanks in advance for responses!

That’s pretty cool!

How much do similar ceremony venues run for in your area? I would do something similar (maybe a little bit less than that considering how early it is and you’re not imposing on her business hours).

Being that it's a donation I think whatever you can comfortably afford is just fine. I personally think $250 is very generous and a good number. Like you said, they wouldn't have to close or be inconvenienced/lose money bc you're having your ceremony there. Anything they receive from you is strictly extra money in their pocket. Congrats and enjoy every second of it!

Well, I like sticking to the math lol (I'm an accounting professional), so if a typical venue is approx $1800 for 5 hours, 30 minutes would be around $180. I would donate $200 😉
