Wedding Cake Decisions

Laila, on June 3, 2019 at 10:05 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 6
Okay so I need some help from those of you who know about Wedding Cakes. We like the idea of having multiple layers then let each tier be a different flavor but I don’t know what taste good together. Our ideal cake would be a 4 tiered (Blackberry Lavender Naked Cake With White Chocolate Buttercream or a Rosemary Lavender Cake With A Lavender Buttercream. Also we are trying to decide whether or not we want a Open Bar/ Bartender do we need Champagne? not everyone drinks it. We also want to do Virgin & Non Virgin Signature Drinks, Open Beer & Wine. Please recommend your favorite Signature Drinks along with Suggestions on Cake..

Maybe she isn’t getting the feed back she needs and the only people she can rely on is US!

I am not for negative feed back at all, I’ve gotten attacked on some of my posts and I don’t like seeing it happen to others as well, sorry Laila.

I have never tasted lavender butter cream but I suggest you do that and stick with the same flavors your cake will be. Too many flavors going on may be too much, for me at least.

Also we are only doing beer and wine for our guests. Hope this helps!

FH and I decided on a three tier cake. We are doing the top and bottom tiers the same flavor (vanilla cake) and the middle tier is going to be pistachio. We chose Italian Buttercream for the icing on the whole cake. I think it’s fine to choose a couple different flavors for the cake, but maybe just stick with two at most.

We are having an open bar, but no champagne. When we do toasts, everyone will just have to use what they’re drinking. I don’t think it’s necessary to do champagne, especially if you are providing alcohol. I do suggest hiring a professional bar service since they have insurance and all that Jazz. Our open bar includes liquor, but that’s certainly not necessary either. Beer and wine are plenty sufficient! I’m not really sure what to suggest for signature drinks though.

This is a spam account. They have posted several times in a row, several days in a row, asking tons of questions per post that rarely make sense. Most of them have been removed.

Thank you for clarifying but this was my first time seeing this post. I just have this negativity I’ve been seeing on my posts and others posts so I stand by people when things are said. My apologies for not understanding! We are only women seeking help on here lol

For cake, I will say that lavender sounds intricate and interesting, but my baker said it's not actually a really good taste. We have a 5-tier semi naked cake with white buttercream and a slight chocolate drizzle. Each cake flavor/filling will be different for each tier: lemon raspberry, strawberry shortcake, white chocolate raspberry, cinnamon blackberry, and banana cream.

For the bar, I'm not really sure what to suggest other than save the money on champagne because most people like to toast with their own drink.
