How much is everyone paying for their cake or cupcakes? My venue also requires me to use a licensed bakery!

Like this, but it'll have Captain America, Captain Marvel, and Spiderman.

We paid 525. That includes three flavors, two sheet cakes added. I'm in LA.

Ours is a blueberry and lemon buttercream cake with a birch bark design. The cake will be 3 tiers (6,8, and 0 in). The cake itself is $400, the cake topper and the moss and pinecones add about $40, and the wooden round is about $20 for the rental.

We paid $400 for 3 tiers in Toronto. Red velvet for the top 2 tiers and lemon for the bottom tier. Inspiration pic attached - still waiting for pro-pics.

ETA: plus $24 for delivery and setup.

We are uncertain but it's either going to be $225 for a 3 tier cake or $125 for a 2 tier and $15 for a dozen of cupcakes

I may not be a licensed baker but I do cakes for a lot of events. This was one done for my grandparents because my mom wanted me to and it was for at least 120 people, but because it was family it was free, but I would have charged $100. (But again not good with pricing and still can't seem to comprehend it) So now that I'm getting married I've been baffled by how expensive cakes are and really just want to make ours. I posted this pic in another forum but this sites got me worried and paranoid about my decisions.

That cake you posted is gorgeous! You obviously are extremely talented. The reason people are telling you not to do your own is that you won't want the stress of it the day or two before your wedding.

Hi - you may have already found a bakery but wanted to give you some NH insight.

My venue was ok with having any baker who was inspected by the Board of Health (so it didn't have to be a bakery storefront, could be out of a home if they were inspected). Might want to double check on that with your venue.

We checked out Fredericks and Jacques - the 2 NH staples. Both quoted right around 450-500 for a 3 tier cake plus sheet/kitchen cake to feed 120 total. We went to Chickadee Hill in Sandown, same right around 500. Their cake was phenomenal in comparison to the others. We ended up choosing the Cake Fairy in Hooksett. Cake was good, more of a homemade taste. They were very flexible (it's a mom/daughter business). Prices were SO reasonable - total 200 including delivery. I couldn't justify the 300 difference for something I will only get a slice of. Good luck!
