Wedding Budget?

What was your original budget and what was your final bill? We’re you over or under? Trying to find where i can cut back on my $12,000 budget. Our theme is very minimalistic as it is

We went with an all-inclusive resort in Cancun. Who knows when we will actually be able to go, but dang we need the vacation!!

Our original budget was 10k, but that was unrealistic for the amount of guests and what we wanted. We have everything bought (wedding was originally this May) and we are at about 25k. Not including honeymoon or rings..

I cut back on my flowers for the centerpieces. It hurt me at first but that took $1000 off my budget. I still have a bouquet and the bridesmaids as well with corsages. I heard Costco is reasonable. I found a cheap but quality florist in my community page on facebook.

We started at $15k but it has been slowly creeping up to $20k. We are getting married on North Texas and sometimes things just cost what they cost in a big city, even with a small-ish guest count of 100.

What am I doing wrong?! People with budgets of under 15k please tell me! I am doing an off season Friday wedding for 50 people and the lowest food and beverage minimum I have come across so far is 10k. That is literally just 10k to give people food and drink! I am not in any spectacular big city either.

Have you shopped around? Our caterer is charging $2700 for a 2 meal buffet style service with China and linens, catering staff, and a bartender in Salt Lake City, Utah. She did give a 50% discount for booking early. 10k seems overpriced though imo

We originally said 10k, then realized we have expensive taste, so upped it to 15k, then realized the guest list was at 110 so then it was 20k, now we're at 35k. (And that's very frugal and modest)

We're definitely going to cut some stuff (taking suggestions from all of you ladies posts) and cap it at 30k ALL IN. Literally everything! And might even cut it even lower. like cutting flowers, ceremony decorations, guest favors, dance floor decal, welcome party, etc.

I don't believe in spending a ton for a wedding. It's essentially a dinner party (Ceremony is 30 mins) We've thrown parties for less!

Jealous!! I wanted to do something small and under $5,000 but my fiancé really wanted his friends and family all there, and feeding 150+ people is expensive no matter what.

I feel the SAME WAY. We are having mine in my backyard and food alone for a BBQ buffet is $7700.

We really skipped out an a lot of decor and fresh florals. We skipped things like a dj and did our own Playlist. You could book your photographer for a shorter amount of time. We got a family member to get ordained to officiate. Little things here and there but we are spending around 10k. I bought a sample sale dress for my wedding dress. We have a little help from my parents so out of our pockets we are spending about 8k.

My fiance is the one who didn't want a large wedding & I'm the one with the larger immediate family so it's been harder to trying to condense the guest list, but we both agreed to spend more on the honeymoon than the wedding itself. To be honest, we're only holding a wedding because I wanted one lol So our guest list is going to be less than 100 people.

Makes sense. You might be able to save a bunch of money by doing a cocktail-hour type reception instead of a dinner. Food and beverage seems to be the bulk of everyone’s costs from what I gathered.

FH's cousin is a caterer is she did tell us food would make up about half of our budget, I've never thought about a cocktail hour type of reception, I knew I wanted it done earlier in the day though.
