Personally, I feel I am doing well even if slowly but surely but seeing progress. I would be lying if I did not say it wasn't hard cutting back and working out daily but seeing the progress in my clothes and feeling more comfortable about my day when last month I felt ugly and did not even want to wear a wedding dress is amazing. I am going a no sugar detox and cutting out carbs a lot. Limiting cheat days to once every two weeks and if I do cheat it is to a very small scale during the week. Keeping healthy meals at home and keeping junk food away. It has gotten easier than when I first started. I have dropped about 9 lbs since starting last month and most important toned up my upper back and improving in exercises and weights I could not do before. Half the time I walk like a zombie due to pain but no pain no gain (wasn't that Karate Kid?) lol. I refuse to have overhang in the dress I currently have and even if I exchange it would be another strapless or something low back cut so I want my arms and upper back toned and of course lose weight so my curves look smooth and my waist shrinks back down as I was told to highlight that with whichever dress I get. Most important I want to look back at my day and feel beautiful and sexy you know what I mean? I do not want to look back and feel I did not look my best so I am willing to tone up for the day. What about you? How is it going for you? Feel free to share and healthy tips or work outs your are doing?

I'm not really looking to lose weight. I work full time in an IT company, but I am also a part time group exercise instructor, and I teach 6-8 strength and cardio classes a week, as well as getting my own workouts. I haven't had my fittings yet, but I did try on my dress when it came in, and it fit PERFECTLY, so I am more around the lines of maintaining what I have now (which I don't think will be hard, because I've maintained the same weight and size for 8 years, except my thighs and shoulders got bigger because of strength training).

The best advice I can give is to think of it as a lifestyle change, not necessarily just something you HAVE to do because you want to look good in your dress. Also, find an exercise that you absolutely love to do. I know it's not for everyone, but that's why I totally encourage group exercise and finding something that you like - then it doesn't fee like work!

And water! Lots and lots and lots of water!

    Good luck!

Ahhhhh let me clarify things. I am not doing this for just the wedding but the wedding was the kick to get back into shape. Funny exercise is not an issue for me. Since 2011 exercise has been a consistent factor in my lifestyle. I just cannot exercise and eat what I want and I come from a family that loves food and both my parents were large size so it is in my genes. I will always have a struggle with food and I work out because I should and I feel good but it is not something that replaces my emotions so that is a lifelong struggle. I hope to keep this up post wedding but realistically I want to not look back and feel I look big. I am good losing about 30 lbs as that is a weight I am comfortable at and it is maintainable but I got quite off track this past year.

I follow strength plans I save on Pinterest, I do HIIT classes and often do the gym classes. I mostly drink water and maybe once a week drink diet soda. Smiley smile I know what to do in regards to healthy living but I sometimes fall off and something will cause me to get back on and maintain for awhile. I will never be at the heaviest I used to be in college so I am proud of that. But mostly there are some parts I want to tone for the big day too. I appreciate your advice but I do not want my post to come off as I am only doing this for the wedding rather the wedding is the catalyst for me to get back on the horse. Smiley smile

Thanks so much. I appreciate it. I do agree it is a healthy lifestyle, that is why I try to avoid the word diet but I know that when I am at a smaller size I feel most confident and comfortable. I think as a bride I can wear the make up and do the hair to look beautiful but I want to feel confident on my day and look back at the pics and feel like I look like myself in my best form. I cannot explain it lol. I know many brides say they want to look like themselves on their day and I agree but I feel my best self is at a size 8-10 and I feel most comfortable and myself.

I was more focused on the butt and legs! I just wanted there to be nice curves around there.

My FH and I are cooking the majority of our meals at home (this has saved us a ton of money too!). For food, we are focused on fruits and veggies, lean meats, beans, and whole grain carbs. We do include some dairy and nuts, but we watch the quantities. I try to make sure we still have some desserts for sweet cravings (pudding, halo top, chocolate covered almonds, etc.). I am doing a lot of meal prep so we always have options available.

We are working out 3-4 times a weeks. It is a combination of cardio (15-20 minutes) and weight lifting (20-25 minutes), followed by stretching.

I am really trying to make sure we focus on life long habits, rather than drastically cutting things. My FH has lost 30 lbs and wants to lose another 15 or so. I have lost 13 lbs and want to lose another 5 or so. We are 3 months out from the wedding.

Oooooh awesome. Yes the meal prep helps a lot. It took the wedding to kick start getting into shape but also as a journey because I got off track and was not happy with my weight. Not easy especially because I am having a really rough day and wanted some major junk food but decided to cheat with a peanut butter cliff bar lol.

How is you progress going? We got married in July, but I started working out and eating healthy in January. I didn't see weight loss progress until March and lost a total of 15 lbs in 6 months.

What healthy regime are you following? Cut out soda, desserts, unhealthy snacks & coffee creamer. Eat 99% of our meals at home and make healthy choices. Take HIIT classes twice a week at a gym, do Tone It Up app workouts the other 3 weekdays at home. Walk at least 3 miles a weekend.

What part of your body are looking to tone up and why? I wanted to lose the extra weight I gained around my hips & stomach.

It sounds like you're making great progress! You have plenty of time so it's great you started early.

I did not want to wait to the last minute so that way if it took some time then I could get it together. Today was hard as I am PMS'ing bad today. Luckily had a Cliff Bar to fight the craving ha ha.

How in the world do you fry an Oreo??? Is this really a thing?
I have a sugar tooth, so for me I bake my treats rather than buy store bought. I walk 5 miles most days, usually closer to 10 this time of year and move about a half ton of hay a day. You'd think I would b skinny as a rail, but nope!!! Thanks hormones!!!! Guys have it much easier in sooo many ways 😁

I made fried oreos once. I cannot remember how. They are sooooo good! I understand you. I have to workout hard and diet. It is frustrating. You got this. We can do this!
