Wedding Bod Ready Post

Kristen, on February 23, 2020 at 6:44 PM Posted in Fitness and Health 0 34

Just a random post. If you are shedding the pounds and toning up for the big day how is you progress going? What healthy regime are you following? What part of your body are looking to tone up and why?

Personally, I feel I am doing well even if slowly but surely but seeing progress. I would be lying if I did not say it wasn't hard cutting back and working out daily but seeing the progress in my clothes and feeling more comfortable about my day when last month I felt ugly and did not even want to wear a wedding dress is amazing. I am going a no sugar detox and cutting out carbs a lot. Limiting cheat days to once every two weeks and if I do cheat it is to a very small scale during the week. Keeping healthy meals at home and keeping junk food away. It has gotten easier than when I first started. I have dropped about 9 lbs since starting last month and most important toned up my upper back and improving in exercises and weights I could not do before. Half the time I walk like a zombie due to pain but no pain no gain (wasn't that Karate Kid?) lol. I refuse to have overhang in the dress I currently have and even if I exchange it would be another strapless or something low back cut so I want my arms and upper back toned and of course lose weight so my curves look smooth and my waist shrinks back down as I was told to highlight that with whichever dress I get. Most important I want to look back at my day and feel beautiful and sexy you know what I mean? I do not want to look back and feel I did not look my best so I am willing to tone up for the day. What about you? How is it going for you? Feel free to share and healthy tips or work outs your are doing?

Its soooooooooo hardddd. My FH lives in the gym and eats whatever he wants. It’s so hard trying to diet when you’re with someone who eats junk and sweets and still looks chiseled. The temptation is there everyday but I’ve been doing well so far.

LOL my fh is not a gym person and I am the more in shape one between us two but he has little interest in working out. He does the one meal a day which works for him but he can eat whatever -_-. I get the frustration. Men have it a bit easier at times ha ha.

They really do!!! I feel like as soon as they think about dieting the weight just starts falling off. And I have a hard time going to the gym with him because he is lifting like **** pounds and running 485 miles and I’m struggling on the bike like 🥺🥺🥺tenor.gif

LOL but you know what? You're putting in the effort. That is what matters and the hard work will pay off. Smiley smile

You're better than me. I would've slapped them out of his hand and said if I am not having any than neither are you. I jokingly told one of my juniors in class that from here on there are no more frappuccinos or sugar coffee drinks in my class. If I am dieting we all are! LOL. They died laughing.

I’m starting my dieting routine March 1st. I already workout but I eat so much garbage! I have recently cut out hard alcohol and only drink wine occasionally as we want to get pregnant right after our wedding so I’m trying to “prep” so to speak. Its just soooo hard because I love pasta and pizza but I need to get toned up for my big day. I used to eat so well but the past 2 years I’ve just not cared. Although I don’t have a lot to lose I still want to tone up and feel good again. Its such a struggle.

Ahhhh you and I are in the same boat. For the past 9 years regular exercise has been a part of my lifestyle but my eating is a consistent struggle. I do well and then some moments I do not care. Carbs is a hard one I feel you. Low carb works but I gotta watch staying a way from too much fat. You got this and we will look amazing.

I would be lying if I said it was going well lol. I let myself slide a bit with good junk I love over the holidays, but now I'm kicking myself into gear and counting my carbs. Currently going through the painful sugar withdrawals lol - my FH had a box of fries and I was shooting him daggers. But my sugar levels were not good and need to be toned down, which means me actually honoring my carb counting. Otherwise the doctor warned that more meds are in my future. So I'm sobbing my sad tears over low carbs and doing my best to cut down. Keep at it girl! I'm still losing weight, but it kind of plateaued with the holidays. Could still use some toning in my back so I gotta keep at the low sugar.

Yeah the holidays made it hard and I feel you. Taking insulin is a reminder I cannot eat what I want like others. It is frustrating but could be worse. Glad you are getting back to it and you got this.

I’ve been doing Weight Watchers since November, and it’s going well! I’m down 30 pounds so far. Looking to drop 35 more before the big day. I work out 3-4 times a week, and have def been feeling stronger and stronger. I’ve lost mostly in my stomach, and hope I lose and tone all over as I continue. FH and I go to the gym together on the weekends, and he has been such a great support so far. I still have splurge meals at least once a week - but I keep track and stay within my limits. Def struggled in the beginning, but now I crave the gym workout, and my food cravings are a lot better. My worry now is that I ordered my dress true to size in September, and I will not fit in it anymore! Hoping when it comes in next month, they can work with me on alterations, cause I plan to keep at it!

Also, make sure you are taking rest days! There is nothing wrong with taking a day off after a good workout, your body actually needs it, otherwise you can burn out. I’ll alternate exercises back to back days. Like today I did resistance/weights, and tomorrow I’ll do cardio. But if you are in pain, rest a day and then work through it the day after. I was training for a 5k a few years ago and would push through, and I actually got physically ill. So please listen to your body! Lots of water and stretching can help with the pain as well Smiley smile

Oh they can for sure do alterations. Congrats on the progress and keep it up. I would rather pay for alterations to take in as taking out I hear is harder. Glad your FH is doing it with you. Yeah the gym does become addicting. Keep it up!

Oh nothing too major. I usually fit in a day where I may just walk my dog. I am doing more than before so that where the pain comes in instead of just complacently doing the same. Planks I will always suck at and that is fine for me lol.

I have heard the same, taking in is MUCH easier. My consultant said anything over 35 pounds will be difficult, but we shall see. Def seeing the results now, and it feels good! Smiley smile

So, I am not really looking to lose weight, but just want to be healthy and maintain/tone. I want my arms to look good in my dress!
I did a Dietbet game to lose some weight after the holidays. For that, I cut out sugar (for the most part), drank only water, cut out most carbs, and watched the times I ate (I didn’t normally eat after 6 PM or so.)
Then at night I’d walk for a little bit on the treadmill while watching Schitt’s Creek 😂and follow it up with one of Holly Dolke’s YouTube videos — her arm workouts are amazing!!My goal isn’t to be skinny, but just to feel healthy and feel my best on my wedding day! I didn’t do anything extreme, never starved myself, or anything of that sort. Just made some wiser choices with my habits!

That is the thing to keep you going is seeing the results. That is what is keeping pizza out of my mouth and chocolate ice cream ha ha.

I gained quite a bit over the holidays so my weight loss won't be extreme rather where I want to be in general. I am finally wearing a pair of jeans that did not fit and I want to wear my others. My underwear was even cutting into my skin. I do not plan to look totally different from me but to feel comfortable and not feel chubby which is where I was...even in my face. I also wanted to tone. I do not like being a larger weight and I feel most beautiful when I am a comfortable size ya know? Congrats to all you are doing.

I feel I am which is why I am trying to push myself so I can make gains. Otherwise I will do the bear minimum and just become complacent and get no where.
