Wedding Band Ideas

Alright y’all, I need some help and inspiration! This is my ring. It’s a yellow gold solitaire with a split shank, bezel setting, and 2.1 carats. I absolutely love it but have no idea what kind of band would go best with it. I do like the idea of a sparkly diamond encrusted band but I also like a simple gold band too. Please help! What would y’all do?Wedding Band Ideas 1

I personally would choose a simple gold band and let your beautiful ring shine! It's gorgeous and a plainer band wouldn't take away from it. However, I'm a bit more plain and simple in my taste. If you DID decide to go with a diamond band it would just make it that much more sparkly and "shiny". I think once you look at a few different options, you'll be able to see which one you are leaning towards.

Your ring is beautiful and unique. I would choose a very thin, dainty gold band and let the engagement ring be in the star!

Are you more concerned with finding something you like style-wise or something that will sit flush with the band. I know shank settings can sometimes cause a gap. You could look into open bands or contoured bands that would fit around the stone.

If youre talking style, I think you could go with just about anything since the ring is so simplistic. Ive been really into horizontally set baguettes lately. I also love one I saw on Gema and Co thats an open band with 2 single stones on either end. I think that would compliment nicely. I didn't personally like the plain gold band right next to my plain e-ring band. I liked something that added complimentary sparkle.

You should probably just go to a bunch of counters and just try on as many styles as you can to figure out what you like. Thats what I did then ended up having something custom made from the company that did my ering

I’m leaning towards a simple gold band wit perhaps a small eternity band as a spacer. I love bling so I wold probably opt for a bezel set eternity band with ovals about 2.5 mm wide.

Depending on where your fiancé got the ring, they may have bands that are designed to curve around your specific engagement ring band so it sits flush against it.

I'd suggest going around to different stores and trying on bands in-person to see what looks you like. Pictures on jewelry sites ALWAYS make things look great, but you may not like the look of it in person or paired with your specific ring.

You might like the look of solitaire enhancers as well. They're designed so your engagement ring kind of sits within the ring. A lot of people solder their engagement ring with enhancers, so they're usually designed so they can be expanded or manipulated to fit around different kinds of engagement rings.

I think I’m mostly wanting something that sits flush with the band. I hate gapping but I’m not too picky when it comes to the style of the band. I’d be happy with a sparkly band or plain gold band

Im a big fan of the new trend of open wedding bands.

This link is where i first saw them, these are moissanite, but I think Brilliant Earth and other online retailers have similar diamond options.

Also think molded or curved wedding bands are great. Here are some options.

Because of the elongated nature of your center stone, if you want something that sits flush and is also sparkly, you might consider getting two bands, one for top and one for bottom, so it doesnt throw off the visual weight of the ring.

Yes he ordered 2 different 3D printed bands from where he got the ring so I could choose which one I liked better but I honestly didn’t like either one because of how they sat with the ring. I feel like they caused gapping which made it way too thick and nearly reached my first knuckle. I think we’re just going to go to some stores and see if we can find a place to custom make a band for me. That’s what most people are suggesting anyway. Thanks for responding!

I chose to not get a band. I picked a whole different ring so I can alternate. One is rose gold and the other is white gold.
