Wedding at Venue if You Don't (or can't) Postpone/cancel?

Chelsea, on May 5, 2020 at 5:13 PM Posted in Community Conversations 3 2
I'm curious to know if you can't cancel with your venue due to lost deposits, timing, family travel, or whatever else, what would your special day look like if restrictions are semi lifted? I'm trying to envision what we may have to do in a situation where the venue isn't able to reschedule but we are limited by the # of people we have or understandable health concerns from family and friends.

Would there be less folks at a table?
Does everyone get upgraded food and drinks to meet the food and beverage minimum?
Is dancing a thing? Should there be physically games instead? Some other form of entertainment?
Would you set up live stream for those who can't make it anyway?

Definitely questions I will have for my venue as we get closer to the date.

I think limiting guest count will be the first thing. My venue said they will work with me on the F&B minimum if there are restrictions on events or travel.

My guess would be sanitizing stations, fewer people per table/more tables, more spread out dancefloor. Maybe temp checks for guests/staff and masks for staff.

These are questions we all have!! Soon we're going to start seeing the first waves of "phase 1" weddings, and things are also going to differ drastically by your local health situation!

I absolutely recommend finding out a new way to redistribute your food & beverage spend if your guest list size is limited. Hello top tier packages and tons of apps!

I also think fewer people per table is a safe bet, and think there will be lots of changes in food and beverage serving styles.
