Do you have to? Is it a tradition? Something that "everyone" does? Help!

I may be naive, but I've actually never heard of this. I think you should wear whatever makes you comfortable.

I had never heard of this/seen it before WW. I think you should wear whatever you want & are comfortable in. I'm not sure if it's a tradition in certain regions, but it's not where I'm from!

I believe you can wear what you want to. For my bridal shower I had an all white theme, so me and all of the guest wore white. At my friend bridal shower she wore a flower print dress - just basically wear whatever u want to wear.

Thank you ladies! I had never heard that you HAD to but just remember seeing quite a few people on here posting their outfits and it seems most of them were white.

I think it is corny when brides wear white to all other wedding related activities. Besides, I think it takes away from the wow factor on the wedding when your closest friends and family have seen you in white the last 3 times they saw you.

I wore a green dress to my bridal shower. Then again is a surprise so that was no way to prepare for that. For the rehearsal I just started to look for dresses and my only rule (self imposed) is that it is not be black.

I think it's pretty traditional for the bride to wear white to the rehearsal but I don't think it matters what you wear to showers as long as you feel comfortable Smiley smile

Yeah wear whatever you want. I was originally going to wear a black dress (I also wore a black dress to my engagement party) because it's my favorite color to wear, and I literally do not own any white dresses. I only just started adding white to my black and red wardrobe like a year ago so all I have is about 3 tops. However, I ended up finding the most adorable white dress in passing two weeks ago and bought it and now I will be wearing that, which for me will be nice to watch people freak out that I own something white now that's NOT a wedding dress.

I know a lot of people wear white but I'm going to end up wearing green or pink.

I've never heard of this until WW. For my shower I'm wearing a white dress with lots of coloured flowers at the bottom hem, and for rehearsal probably jeans and a t-shirt becuase we'll be doing manual labour setting everything up Smiley laugh Plus it'll create more of a juxtaposition when I get "cleaned up" for the wedding the next day!!

I don't have any white dresses--I'll be wearing a cute dress for my bridal shower, and jeans and a t-shirt to the rehearsal because (like LadyMonk) we're setting everything up that day.

I have cream dresses I'm wearing to showers (why not take the once in a lifetime "I'm a bride" as much as you can?!) But I'm wearing red to the rehersal because that's FH favorite color on me.

I wore black and white to the shower and black to the rehearsal. I love black dresses. If everyone around me wasn't so freaking traditional I probably would have worn a black wedding dress!

I have a tendency to wear white with black to formal events so I have a few white dresses with black accents. I did not know however that brides to be were *supposed* to wear white to engagement parties and showers. That was all new to me when I came to WW. I got a vintage veil at a yard sale in case someone throws me a bachelorette party, but I am on the fence with wearing white to every "bridal" event I happen to have. I know I will be in jeans for our engagement party cooking BBQ for everyone.

I was wondering this same thing last night! I found a super cute white dress on sale and was trying to find a reason to buy it. I can't really remember what my friends wore to their showers or rehearsal dinners.

You don't have to. It seems to have become a tradition, but it's my understanding that it's a more recent wedding thing to do.

I wore a white dress with a black print for my rehearsal because I loved the dress. Wear what you like for yours.
