Wearing veil at reception???

Brandi ♥'s Chris, on July 20, 2010 at 2:23 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 29

I was just wondering, is anyone wearing their veil at the reception? Or are you suppose to take it off? Just wondering...

Yea, I can see why you would take it off. Mine is an elbow length and I love it and was just wondering if any people do wear their veil during the reception

Mine is cathedral so I wont be wearing it but I've seen 2 friends who did wear it but they switched to a shorter length or already had a elbow lenght one

I'm taking mine off well completely changing my clothes. Hubby and I decided the entire bridal party is going to change our clothes we're having a band and dj so we want to be extremely comfortable.

Thanks ladies. I guess it just depends on what you want to do. I was afraid that it would look weird if I kept it on, but I guess everyone does their own thing

My hairstyle for the wedding is very simple and I have a good-looking beaded veil (which actually costs more than the dress) that I love. Anyway, it is fingertip length so I am worried that it will get in the way at the reception, but if I remove it, I think my hair do will look to plain for the dress. Is OK to wear it for the ceremony and the reception? Have any other brides done this? BTW - the veil does not have a blusher - it’s the back half only.

I am wearing mine to the reception and then taking off after the first dance... although I am going to wear it with FS while we practice dancing to make sure it doesn't get in the way. Smiley smile That could be a problem.. if so, then I will take it off before we enter the reception.

Ok, after thinking about that.. I was going to switch from the veil to another hair comb, but I'm not sure I want every single picture after the ceremony to have me wearing my veil... so maybe I will take a few pics with it on, then go ahead and switch it out and not bother wearing it to the reception. Ahh decisions decisions! :/

My photographer convinced me to keep my veil on all night. You get to wear a veil once in your life why not keep it on! (thats what he said) And he really likes veils, they make for good photos. I on the otherhand was so deadset on taking it off after the ceremony because I HATE when things touch my neck. (I always have my hair in a ponytail) but my bridesmaid was with me when we were talking to the photographer and she said if I needed her to hold my veil up all night, she would. Smiley smile I have great friends!

@meghan, that's why I was thinking of keeping it on all night. Because I only get to wear it once and I love it. I just didn't know if it was a common thing or not

I had been wondering the same thing. My veil is elbow length so I might just leave it on.

I am definately taking mine off for the reception so I won't have to worry about it getting caught on something or snagged. I paid alot for that veil and I don't want anything to happen to it.

I think I'm gonna gp for it and wear it the whole time. Now that I see others are doing it as well. I just didn't want to be the odd bride

I'm going to keep mine on through all the first dances, the cake cutting, and some pictures... but I'll probably take it off and switch hair pieces after that so I don't snag it dancing, or get it in my dinner. Smiley smile

I'm pretty sure I'll be keeping mine on. I was the complete package for all my pics!
