Wearing masks was finally mandated- 20 days until the wedding

Erin, on July 20, 2020 at 11:02 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 11
Well now we are considering rescheduling or canceling our wedding and just eloping. Everyone will be mandated to wear masks and it’s just not what I want for my wedding 🥺😔

I’m sorry to hear about this OP. It’ll be tough to postpone a wedding due to happen in less than 3 weeks’ time, but it is possible.

It’s really up to you and whether it is something that means enough to you that you’d like to postpone. We’re currently looking at postponing because we’d have to halve our guest count, and we aren’t allowed any mingling or dancing which is a big no no for us!

That’s definitely tough news to hear if you weren’t planning to have masks. But, now it’s really close to the wedding date. Have you touched base with your venue/vendors and will they allow you to cancel/postpone this late?

Ditto to pp. I hope your venue understand. We postponed less than a month too because of 14 days quarantine requirements. 14 days in Hawaiian hotel room is very expensive, and what do we do in the room and our kids? We might lose our mind. I was sooo excited and counting down the days, now we still have no new date. We don’t know how long this covid and the restrictions stay. We postponed 2x already. I don’t want to set a new date and have to postpone again. It’s too painful to me. Do you have a possible new date yet? Maybe talk to your venue about it. What if you set a new date and covid is still this bad or bad again?

Are they mandated outdoors as well as indoors? Will your ceremony and reception be outdoors vs indoors?

I don't blame you. I don't want them at my wedding either (won't prohibit them, though). I'm sorry you're going through this!

Can you move things to be outdoors instead?

Masks Are Required At Our Wedding As Well In October. I Hate The idea But I Wont Let It Take Away From My Day. I Bought Masks In Bulk For Guests. As Long As I Can Have Photos Without Masks On Ill Be Happy.

Oh I wanted to postpone mine as well. I think I’ve accepted it now and I’m trying to make the best of it. Who knows how long we have to wear masks Smiley sad

Can you talk to your venue and see if they'll allow you to postpone? I don't see how they wouldn't be accommodating with how the situation is
