Ooo....that's a tough one. I've seen grooms wear dress blues, but never groomsmen. I'm interested in seeing what everyone else has to say. Sorry I'm no help.

It's not rude at all. He probably just figured you'd want him in his blues. My brother is going to be an usher in our wedding and he is a Marine and he thought the same thing. I told him, "if all the men in the WP were as brave as you and had dress blues, I'd be all for it!" He was both flattered and humored by that response! Smiley smile

Not rude. I told our friend who is in the army and wedding party that the day is about FH, otherwise I would be all for it. It isn't required of him to wear them for someone else's wedding and I made sure to tell him we are very proud of his service but again, that I thought it would take too much attention away from FH. I love K & B's reply too, though Smiley smile

Not rude. If he was the only one in dress blues, it would look kind of silly....unless he was the groom!

My hubby wore his mess dress, his best man and one groomsman wore black suits, and his other groomsman wore his dress blues. People say black and navy don't "go," but I think our servicemen should be given every opportunity to wear their blues. (Mmmmm, also Smiley smile

If he is adamant about wearing his blues, let him. If he doesn't care, ask him to wear the tux.

I don't really think it's a big deal for you to tell him you want everyone in the same thing. You could say you would like him in the same apparel as everyone for the actual ceremony and photos but that he is more than welcome to switch into his blues before dinner.

I think that sometimes its hard for someone thats in the military to remember that they are at a civilian function they are so used to having to wear their class A's that its just an afterthought.

My son is walking me down the aisle and he is wearing his class A's and I would be hurt if he didnt want to... but thats my wedding.

If he's the best man, I think it is a great idea. If he is a groomsman, then no. He needs to wear a tuxedo just like everyone else.
