So I just got married. And seriously after dinner was over I didn't sit down once. My dress was weird to sit in too. But I wore it all night and I'm glad I did. I ended up taking off the bra that Davids bridal told me I needed and it was so much better. The bra was the kind that goes all the way down to your waist and had boning in it. It was more uncomfortable to sit in than my dress. I took that thing off after the ceremony, and I really wish I hadn't wasted the 80 bucks on it. My dress looked the same with and without that stupid bra.

Anyway. I would wear that gorgeous dress all night. You really won't be sitting much or at all after dinner anyway.

My dress is HUGE. I'll do the initial dances in it. I purchased a used very inexpensive wedding dress to dance the rest of the evening away and still feel like a bride. Smiley smile

For me I just can't justify spending so much on a dress I am only going to wear for one day let alone apart of one day. But my dress is comfortable enough to wear all night.

This is one of those things that it doesn't matter what other people think because it doesn't affect them. However, I personally don't understand the concept of changing after spending so much on a beautiful, fancy dress for one day (and then not even wearing it the entire time?!). I'm with Celia on this... I'd love to wear it at home! ;-) I LOVED my dress and I wanted to wear it all the time, I did not want to take it off.

Hi Sora. Let me first start off by saying i LOVE your dress! (I will be wearing the same one Smiley smile ). Anywho, i know exactly what you mean by wanting to be comfortable. During alterations i stayed in the dress for about an hour and half and i already started to feel some discomfort with the restricting corset... I have the same dilemma. Im contemplating getting another dress. BUT i am having an extremely difficult time finding another less expensive dress worthy enough to be worn on my wedding day....Honestly I'm leaning towards not changing for two reasons. 1. I love my dress, 2. Finding a second dress is more stressful than finding the first one! Lol hope this helps and good luck!

I spent so much money on my wedding dress, I'm going to wear mine the whole time.

I had my dress altered to a corset back and I wore it for the ceremony and reception with no problem. I did have a second dress for our after party, but I wanted to wear my wedding dress for as long as possible.

I thought about it, and even posted here for opinions, but I think I'm going to stick with one dress. It feels like a waste to change.

Initially I was all about wearing my expensive dress as long as humanly possible because I only get to wear it once and it cost so much, etc etc. then I put it on for 20 minutes and realized that with all of the layers it is extremely hot and heavy and I sweat a lot and more difficult than most to sit in. So I bought an inexpensive but still beautiful dress to dance the night a way in. I am going to try to my best to wear my wedding dress up until the dance floor opens for everyone (so after the first dance and parent dances) and then change so that I can move and sit freely and enjoy the dj that I paid for.

Even though I didn't spend a lot on my dress I'm wearing it the whole time. IT's my wedding dress! When shopping for a dress I did consider comfort as well.

You will be in that dress most of the day. I think changing for the last hour and a half so you can dance and relax is a great idea. I'll be changing for the later part of the reception as well.

I had a second dress, but only because there was no way I could wear my ballgown to the bar after the reception. I changed literally right before send off. I also had a corset and it didn't bother me a bit for the 5 hours I was in it. If you're worried about comfort, maybe get something just in case that you won't mind if you don't end up wearing it.

I have a ball gown and am planning on changing into my reception dress after we cut the cake and right before dancing.

I didn't have a corset back, but did have a mermaid/fit and flare dress silhouette and my seamstress and one of the consultants at the boutique where I bought my dress made sure I would be able to sit down in my dress. Before sitting down, you need to lift your dress up a little just below your hips so you have a little more space in the hip area to bend comfortably and not feel like your dress is super tight while you're sitting. After they showed me this, I didn't have any issues.

Love your original dress! I wouldn't bother changing- not everyone stays all night to see it anyway and you don't want to be wasting time away from the party changing!
