Wear sunglasses for wedding day or not?

SterlingElle, on February 13, 2020 at 6:37 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 11

Hi everyone!

My wedding day is coming up (2 months) and I have arranged about everything, venue, dress etc...

There is just one last thing on my mind...

It's going to be VERY sunny around that time and I don't know if I should wear sunglasses or not...

I have very sensitive eyes so I need sunglasses or my head hurts after 10 mins, but you know... Sunglasses during a ceremony Idk.

What do you guys think??

I personally would do everything in my power not to wear sunglasses during my ceremony, but if it's going to ruin the rest of the event for you, then you've gotta do what you've gotta do. Have you talked to a doctor about possible medication that could prevent the headaches?

I agree with the PP. I would not want that to be in my pictures but I would ask if there is something else you could do. Talk to your eye doctor. Also, could you do the ceremony in a shaded area?

I would do any and everything to avoid this. I personally would not want sunglasses in my photos. Could you get some type of shade to put at the alter?

Can you just set your ceremony up so your back is to the sun? I really feel like sunglasses would ruin the “bridal look” as well as your photos.

I am also someone who gets headaches from being in too much direct sunlight. I agree with others that you should try to avoid wearing your sunglasses during your ceremony (for picture reasons, but mostly so that your future spouse can see into your eyes!). Since you have 2 months, you have time to arrange for some shade (tent, awning, arch, potted plants in buckets, etc.) to shelter you.

And also, please consider your guests, too. If it's going to be uncomfortably sunny for you, it will also be uncomfortably sunny for them, and they will be sitting in it longer (before, during, and after the ceremony).

We got married on the beach so I know what you’re saying. I would try not to wear them during the ceremony. We actually wore ours for part of the reception because it was outside on a terrace and very sunny.

Yes! was planning on providing sunglasses for everyone, kind of as a gift as well.

But thanks for your comment, helped a lot!
