Wear engagement ring at ceremony?

Ok, so i know this is probably a stupid question but i really dont know. Are you supposed to wear your engagement ring during the ceremony and then he puts the wedding band on, or does your maid of honor keep the engament ring and we get married with the band, then put the engagement on after?

Traditionally, the wedding band is worn first on the fourth finger of the left hand, making it closest to the heart. If a bride chooses to wear her engagement ring during the ceremony, however, this can cause a problem. Many brides simply wear the engagement ring

on their right hand and move it to their left unobtrusively after the wedding band is placed on their finger. Another option is to continue wearing it on the left hand but to switch the rings to the proper order immediately after the ceremony.

I agree with the having them soddered together, thats what I'm doing. My wedding ring is a wrap to go around my e-ring. Im going to go crazy for 2 wks w/o it but in the long run, I will have them both togeher forver. =^]

The one concern I have is the photos BEFORE the ceremony of when I'm getting ready, etc. I would really like to have my e-ring in the photos.....so I will probably keep it on my left finger and let him slip on the wedding band over it. After the ceremony, I will switch it.

I'm glad to hear that there are girls doing the soldering thing beforehand- my wedding ring is made to connect with my e ring, so it looks incomplete without it.
