How We Met: My sister, Jess, was a teacher and her school needed an extra chaperone to go to Grad Bash @ Universal Studios Orlando. I said "Ok sure, twist my arm to go to Univ Studios for free."  She introduced me to another teacher at her school, Josh.  We hung out and talked through out the night and went our separate ways.  That following Monday, she called and told me that he sent her an email about me.  He said "I'm smitten for your sister."  At that current time I was engaged to a jerk and the relationship was going down the drain. About a month later, it was over and I was moving out.  Jess said Josh was willing to help, but I was too chicken to call him; so my mother did.  Without knowing me, he came, packed up my truck, moved me out of there and into my new apartment.  After all that I had to take the guy out for a drink.  He came to pick me up a few hours later, looking so handsome (after a shower & change of clothes), and took me to the beach.  We went to an event called "Dancing in the Street."  As the band played on stage, he asked what I wanted for dinner.  We strolled along the street until we came upon a quaint little sushi restaraunt.  Over a few sushi rolls, we talked; we found that we had much more in common than we knew at first glance. Later we ended up at a bar on the beach.  Even though I said I was going to buy him a drink, he wouldn't let me!  But we were having a great time.  We walked on the beach and talked even more.  A few times we stopped and he tried to kiss me but I wouldn't let him, so we just hugged.  Finally he put his hands so gently on my cheeks, pulled me close, & we had our first kiss.  It was an amazing moment!  We agreed that we didn't want to take things too fast, since I had just moved out of my ex-fiance's house only hours before.  We talked until 5am the next morning.  We talked everyday and saw each other almost every day as well.  Before we knew what was happening we were falling in love. How He Proposed: A year and a half later, we took a trip to Sanibel Island.  It was where we went on our first road trip.  Where I first realized I was falling for him.  He took me there just beacuse I love shelling and it was the best place for it.  Anyways, so the first night we got there, he was very adamant about getting to Lighthouse Point.  I didn't pay much attention to it, but I said "Well lets go to dinner and we'll drive there afterwards."  We did. It was well after dark when we finally got to the beach.  The Lighthouse was shinning its light and a cool breeze was blowing.  We were scanning the beach for shells with our flashlights when he found a clam shell, he said "Look a clam shell, maybe there's a pearl inside!" Me, being the know-it-all-about-shells, said "No silly, pearls come from oysters not clams." He said "What about diamonds?" Again, know-it-all-me, not thinking twice about the question, said "No, those come from rocks and are not found on beaches." He replied "What about from my pocket?" Before I realized what he had said, he came up behind me and gave me a hug.  He whispered "I want to spend the rest of my life with you, Marcj, if you will have me?" and slipped the ring on my finger. Shocked and excited I dropped my bucket and flashlight, turned around and kissed and hugged him, repeatedly. "So is that a Yes?" He asked in between kisses.  I was so excited, I forgot to say it! But I did; I shouted it.
