Dedicated December 2020

We moved our wedding from May to December. Any advice/ideas are helpful!

Hi Everyone!

I am having a Christmas inspired wedding on 12/5/2020! We actually did move our date for this. Originally, we were getting married on May 9th, 2020 but I was having a hard time planning and felt like my deadline was fast approaching. Our dating anniversary is 12/07/15 and we got engaged on 12/31/18, plus we both absolutely love Christmas so a December wedding just made more sense!

I am however having a hard time shifting my mindset, planning and Pinterest boards to reflect a winter wedding versus the pastel lavender floral May wedding I had planned. We don't necessarily want the Christmas red, green and gold. I actually like silver more than gold. Does anyone have any color scheme ideas for me that can still be Christmas inspired without being Christmas themed? Do I have any date twins that want to share ideas? Any advice on shifting my planning from spring to winter or what to focus on now that we're a year out? (I already have our venue, photographer (engagement pics are done), save the dates ordered, and a month of coordinator)

I used Pinterest like crazy but so often things on there just become so similar and repetitive! We just want to start getting deals on decor and things once the season ends!

I loveeeee the silver and blue together - that’s my color scheme for November (we aren’t sticking to “fall” colors)

I totally agree with dusty blues and silver! Winter colors, but not Christmasy

I think you could keep your lavender, but pair it with silver, and maybe some darker plum or purple accents & flowers, with the men in dark gray. It could be very wintery and sophisticated, without being too Christmasy. Congrats on your new date!
