We have reserved __ Seats for you = RSVP help?

Leesha, on April 7, 2015 at 1:57 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 31

I am soo late on my invitations haha. I am ordering them tonight!

How did you do your RSVP's?

Did you put how many seats you reserved for your guests?

I was thinking something along the lines of...

Ex:

We have reserved __ seats for you

_ Accepts

_Decline

__ Number attending

Name_____

Is this OK etiquette wise?

I didn't put it on mine but you certainly can. I think mine were just

    _Accept

    _Decline

    _# attending

    M________________________ (for name)

Thanks a lot everyone . I will for sure be doing the "We have reserved __ seats in your honor" choice. I feel that it will be a lot easier this way!

Leesha, it's the way to go. I've had at least 6 people added because I let them put their own number of people. I very clearly addressed both envelopes, yet they still did this. Do it for your sanity. LOL

I did __of__ decline, __of__ accept and then the food choices the same way, and I spilled out the 2nd blanks on all so it was obvious how many seats you had, I wanted to have it in as many places as possible... Likely someone will still write in a guest though, I know it Smiley sad

I had reserved seats and even had the names typed out on the RSVP and guest still added names. Some people just don't get it. So, try to make it as clear as possible, but be prepared for someone adding a name

We did our similar to your example with the "M_________" line , I hope my guests understand that line LOL, when I handed my invites out at Easter they all kind of looked at me like I had turned into some insanely fancy person.

Anyways mine are like this :

    M___________

We have reserved _ seats in your honor.

    _Accepts with pleasure

    _Declines with regrets

    _# of Adults

    _# of Children

Kindly initial beside your meal choice.

Please list any dietary restrictions below.

I used the reserved seats. It did prompt a couple people to call about plus ones, but so far no one has added extra people.

    I definitely did the

We have reserved _____ seats in your honor route.

Both of us come from large extended family and we wanted to make it crystal clear # of people invited. Any issues, they could contact us directly Smiley smile

    I used:

    Mr/Mrs_____________________________________

_____ Wouldn't Miss It for the World

_____ Will be Celebrating from Afar

I didn't add reserved seats or number attending, because I was worried about people misinterpreting what that meant. I'm hoping people will fill in the Mr/Mrs line with the names of all guests. If there's any question I'll just call and clarify.

I would go even farther and write in the two specific people you are inviting, not just one person and whoever they want to invite....

You can't go wrong underestimating the denseness of potential guests. I'm sorry if that sounds mean, but it's totally true.

This might be dense but what does the "M" mean? Is it for Mr./Ms.??
